I'm afraid that I have to introduce a new rule! Members' email addresses are completely private and may not be used when sending emails to multiple addresses without the member's consent! Even then, you should use the BCC option for such emails so that their email addresses remain private! I realise that we all encounter things which we consider unsuitable for posting here, whether they be humourous or serious, but it is not courteous to send en bloc emails which reveal a host of email addresses, nor is it safe to do so! If a member reports receiving emails of this nature, or any spam/annoyance emails, from another member, the latter will have their privileges curtailed. Persistent abuse of this kind will result in a suspension or even a ban. Steve. |

Thanks for this Steve. In view of the new virus's that are transported via mass emails, can I please ask that if any member has my email address, to please remove it from their email address list. I really would not want my email corrupting with anything from emails sent en bloc. And I am sure the members responsible would feel awful if that happened because of it. I feel the PM system is adequate without the need for e mailing. Cheers Poppy.

It's worth remembering, folks, that certain nasties will make use of your address book without your knowledge
If you want to be secure, then keep your most important email addresses in something different - not your address book! I know it means remembering them or copying them in, but it will protect your friends if you're unfortunate enough to get an email worm

Write them down(with a pen) into an addresss book and just type them in when you need to send individual e mails. It is best not to leave them on your email address book though.Poppy |

You can also put them in a spreadsheet so that they're easy to find, Anne
Or a database or even a text file, if you prefer
