This is the final one I did to sell (hopefully) at the craft fair tomorrow. The Last Unicorn ![]() It's all systems go here now. We have had the last table hired out to someone selling Cosmetics, so that's good! Altogether we have a varied range of different crafts and gifts on sale, from chocolates, to upholstery, silk flowers, sand art, books, cards, plus a raffle and lucky dip (the teddybear we have as the star raffle prize is HUGE!) plus little old me waxing away in the corner! Just hope the weather holds now! I must say, I can't wait...although I am trying to puzzle out just how to get everything in the car with three passengers as well! So if you see someone tomorrow driving along the A134 with a huge teddy sitting on the roof...that'll be me! Maria x |

Yes...I'll sit on the roof of the car and let the teddy drive! I'm a bit worried about the snow too...been snowing all afternoon here, though it is yet to settle. I just hope it doesn't get any worse tonight. Steve.....I thought you were coming to the fair early to help out! Obviously, I see now it's a ruse so that Jenny can get her hands on the unicorn before anyone else does! Very cunning!! See you tomorrow.Maria x |

I'm betting you came back empty handed picture wise, but with a nice weight to your purse.

Well....the fair wasn't as busy as I'd liked, but my table was quite popular. Had loads of kids trying it out for themselves, so that made a bit of money! I sold a couple of A5s, an old A6 that I'd done ages ago and framed up, plus loads and loads of bookmarks! They were very popular! Someone asked if I'd go and give a talk at the local over 50s 'Friendship Club' where I could sell my work as well on the day, so I said I would if I could do the dates they want me for. Just waiting to hear now. The overall event went quite well, though as I said, not as many turned up as we'd hoped for. The raffle made a bit though, and for someone who never wins a thing, I managed to pull three of my own numbers out of the box! I swear it wasn't a fix either! So the teddy bear came back home with us and now lives on Emily's bed (he's now called 'Billy'!) so she got her wish after all!It was great to see Jenny and Steve too. Jenny...you were a star with all the help you gave! The main reason for the fair was to raise money for Colchester Carers Centre and I am pleased to say that at the end of the day we had raised £133.50, so that was really great! I know they will put it all to good use! I think we may hold another fair later in the year, though maybe in a more central location. For now though, I'm happy it's all over and I can get back to painting some bigger work with a view to exhibiting it. Maria x |

Jenny and I had fun, though neither of us are fans of crowds, so perhaps we've got a slightly different view of "successful" Seriously, it was a shame that more folk didn't come in but the atmosphere was great And you should've pointed out that you put two of your tickets back without taking more prizes, Maria
Unfortunately, on the day we were slightly short of coinage So the unicorn didn't come home with us - though Jenny watched it like a hawk
She whispered threats from across the hall at anybody who goit too close to that one (Of course, I was the only one who could hear her
