I think you did a damn fine job! Always wanted to see a kingfisher in the wild, but never been lucky enough. I think you captured this onbe perfectly. Bill Oddie would be proud!

Jinny that is terrific, I love Kingfishers, when we were little they were flying down by the river all the time, since growing uo and in the last few years I have only ever seen 1 and thatwas at the beck behind the house, and Rachel thought it was somebody's exotic bird got lose??? It was her first sighting of a Kingfisher.

Yes I too love a nice Kingfisher,... preferably a nice cold pint of, accompanied by a chicken vindaloo... Oh, hold on... wait... D'oh!

That's beautiful Jinny, superb proportions and you've got the colours spot on as well.

That must of taken ages!

Well don though, it's brill!

Really, really beautiful :thumbup; - the vivid colours really stand out (if it had been more turquoisy it wouldn't have been so striking I reckon) never seen a kingfisher in real life (seems to be more wildlife in urban areas than down here in the country now)

So, it was worth all the withdrawal symptoms eh

Love x  PS - what was that bright yellow thing in the sky today - looked on the internet and found it was a thing called The Sun ;)

Thank you Poppy and Terry :ta: :ta: :ta: :ta:

Col it didnt take that long really,i drew the kingfisher first then waxed a watery blue for the sky and then scratched out the blue where my kingfisher was( that took the time )

Then painted on wax

Took about an hour an a half all in all!

This is really very good. I was wondering how you did it, but have just read you reply to Col. you must have plenty of patience. I know when i did silky, it took me ages to scratch her out, and she was only little! :nw:
