I am thinking of making a ceramic clock face in my pottery class, has anyone ever brought a clock movement from a craft shop? I had a very quick look at the ones available on our local craft shop, they were £4.50 and then you had to buy the hands separate for around £3.00. Just wondering if thats a good price or not. :blink:

I did some old 12" records as clocks a few yrs ago back in the 80's :red:

I used to buy 2nd hand clocks from boot sales and charity shops for under a pound and take them apart

Well I've seen battery clocks in the pound shop - so they must be worth investigating - depends on what sort of hands you want, but you could at least save on the movement! :wave:

I know that almost all of the craft stores here have clock works. I don't know the prices but they have several styles. JoAnn's has an online site and so does Micheal's. I don't know the exchange in coin though. Let me know what that is is dollars and I will check.

Carol, the main problem isn't the exchange rate but the shipping costs imposed ;) Many things are much cheaper in the US, but the shipping charges are absolutely horrendous :eek: ;)

What a good idea getting a clock from a £1 shop if it can be taken apart easily. :thumbup;
