Hi M - all are brilliant as ever - I do like the way your colours are so bright and clear - just like a real waterfall.  There's a funny little urchin mid-left on second one.

I love the little unicorn too - so sweet - he would melt anyone's heart... thumbs up and that kneeling down smileythingy.

Thank goodness Catherine - it's not just me who's had their smileys kidnapped.

If anyone receives a ransom note - please could we all have a whip round???!!

Love - kiss- wave-wave

If the absent smilies persists, Terry, try Ctrl F5 to force a proper reload of the page and hopefully they'll come scurrying back ;)

 Yay! I got smileys back!!! Thanks for telling us how to slove the problem Steve!

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments.

Barry, I took a look at some of my older waterfalls and thought they lacked a bit of reality, so I made a conscious effort to improve them. Very pleased with the combined effect of the tissue work with the ironing. That and Jinny's blown was tip give the whole thing movement.

Terry, Yes, I see the urchin as well although it looks more like a long-eared owl up close!

Bill Oddie is probably lurking somewhere in the undergrowth too!!!!! :r

 Hell no, Jinny! I'm not that good!!!

I usually do a small pencil sketch on paper first, to get an idea of form etc. Then scratch an outline on the wax. Take out the flesh tones first and then add flesh coloured wax, plus shading where needed, then put the rest in gradually.

With 'A Place of Magick' though, I used a mini iron tip to put the wings in before the body (after scratching out the main figure) then used a stylus to put in any highlights. Might try it that way again, as it was much easier to do.
