I've had an idea for a long time of making a dark background and putting golden trees over it.![]() I think this could have been better really - what do you think? It's A4 size on white card. |

It's difficult to be 100% certain, Barry, because the quality of the gold gets lost in scanning/photographing, but if my imagination is up to the task, and I'm anywhere near the reality, I agree with Terry I tend to be a bit light with the metallics, as I've only got little crayon-style ones and I'm afraid of running out

I think the purple contrasts well with the gold and the whole piece has a lovely floaty feel to it. I tried the same thing using the blue/green with gold and found those two colours complimented each other well too. What size is this one, by the way? Maria x PS Good luck at Manningtree! |

i love the colours barry,it reminds me of oriental silk! . I find the gold I use turns a sort of greenbrown dull metatlic colour, the only metalic wax I really like is the silver, even the bronze is golder than the gold I have, I wonder if you have the same problem, polishing it seems to make mine worse so if I do use it I tend to polish the background and add the gold last!

Hi Barry, Love the purple and blue combo, and the gold really contrasts well. Well done! - Catherine, I've noticed that with the gold too,.. and only use the silver, (which I can't get enough of ;)) - Col! |

Thanks all. Maria, it's A4 - i've added that to description now. Catherine, here's a detail Golden Trees Detail The gold blocks that I have in stock now are much better colour than some I've had in the past which were very dull/greenish brown. Perhaps you ought to invest in a new block of gold! Having said that, the metals do behave differently; silver floats on the other colours whereas the gold mixes in and sinks more easily and so gets lost. The coppers/bronzes vary too. |

It is very beautiful Barry. I love the oriental feel it has, but it is also very mystical as well. Great work. Poppy I have never had any problem with my golds, I am pleased to say? |

Thanks for all of your comments. I put this one on EI as well. I was worried about my trees just floating even though I blended the base of each in to the purple; no one on either site has mentioned that though, so my concerns have diminished! |
