I know that this is a reply to an old topic but I've only just joined! I lurve origami, although I struggle to spell it!, and I have been looking for a format for a Kimono for ages. I just got myself some oriental paper and will be folding away as soon as I sign off which will be as soon as I finish this reply! Thanks. :thumbup;

Hi Puss, I like origami also and the more modern form of it known as Tea bag folding. I made the Kimono in Japanese oriental paper as an addition onto 4 fold Japanese screen card, it looked lovely.
Unfortunately I don't have the card to show you now as I sent it to a friend in Canada as a thankyou for the lovely assortment of Japanese papers she sent me.
I would be pleased to see your kimono when you have finished it?

Thanks Poppy, I lurve teabag folding and also enjoy simple origami as I am only a bear of simple brain. I have already had a go at one kimono and will certainly post a photo when I make up a card.

Replying to Steve, there there! Short term memory loss..??!!? What was I saying..er! I like resurecting old things too! (As you have met the husband I'm sure you can appreciate that!)

Puss, Jenny often posts under my ID :r :r It gets confusing sharing a computer sometimes, eh? :D Memory loss? What's a memory, then :wacko: Tephy's not old - we're the same age :r :r :r

I am now knee deep in kimonos. I have tried lots of different sizes and papers and think I am just about getting the hang of it! Will post my efforts in the next day or so. When my dearly beloved can do it as I am the technically challenged one in the familly, and Tephy is the wonder god!
And, yes Steve, I know you are both the same age. Similarities don't just stop there!!! I think you know what I am saying! (if not please refer to your darling wife!!) :r :r :thumbup;

:r :r I know all too well, Puss :D Apparent deafness and being "oblivious to looks/remarks/etc." is just a well cultivated habit :r Far more observant than some think ;) :P

You've all been so nice and kind! The next one will be better I promise. Talking of promises - I'm on a promise Friday to go visit a new craft shop and spend ooodles of Tephys money! At least my purchases will have a direction now because I want to find some great oriental "stuff". And you can never have too much "stuff"!
Thanks again :huggy:

Have been busy bying up large stocks of oriental themed "stuff" (and you can never have too much "stuff") Hopefully I'll have some time to play with it soon!

Puss Hiya again. You must have mountains of kimono's now as well as a decent sized paper mountain stash :r :r :r :r
We all know Steve is a fantastic person, that's why we all come on here day after day, or in my case hour after hour!!!
Don't forget there is plenty free backing paper sites that have Oriental papers to download. Check out our Mummy Mardar, her link is on the front page. Her Oriental stuff is out of this world and for freeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
