Hi all - well it's the weekend again - still no Spring here - I'm hearing all these reports of hosepipe bans and yellow grass - well, we're still in wellies. How lovely :blink:

Just a new addition to the Springwatch family. We live very close to the River Otter - but otters are very elusive animals.......

Have a nice weekend

Love x :wave:

Superb Beaver Terry. I particularly love his purple nose. :r :r :r

Only poking fun!

Seriously though, He's adorable, and I agree with Catherine and Jinny that you are simply the best at these types of pieces!

You're so good with proportion, and the amount of detail and realism you put into thier faces is quite remarkable.

Oh thanks everyone :huggy: Hi Jin, Catherine, Col and Steve

Must tell you what Col was saying. As I was doing this yesterday and today - poor Col - always bending his ear, was getting a minute by minute account of Oswald's progress.

First pic - he looked like a sheepskin rug. Try again....next he looked like an otter with an eskimos face....

Try again.... oh yes - getting there - went to put on his nose - dipped stylus in what I thought was brown paint. Think again - it was vivid purple.....great :eyo: :blink:

Try again - he morphed into a beaver.....I hope you're all keeping up with this - it is still the same pic by the way......78 layers of wax - but - hey never give up.....

Finally thought it was ok - looked again and he looked like he'd been scoffing marmalade......

hhhmmm - probably not an otter's staple diet - so off we sent again - scratch scratch scratch (the otter pic - I don't have fleas) <_<

Finally there he was - so I'd like to pretend all this comes quite naturally -but in fact I could have probably learnt Brain Surgery Techniques and saved three peoples lives in the time it took to do little Oswald...... :thumbup; ;)

Love x :wave:

He's gorgeous. Last weekend we were up at my daughter's and went to the where the Spey goes int the sea, when she was kayaking one day she had seen otters, but there were obviously away on their Easter holidays! We saw red squirrels though, so I was really excited about that.
Your wax painting is really gorgeous he looks so cute and really life like. :nw: :nw:

Morning everyone :wave: :wave: and many, many thanks - what a brill start to the day. Hi Poppy, John, Di, M, Jo and everyone from yesterday - oh it's getting like the Oscars again ;) ;) :thumbup;

Hi Poppy - wish you'd seen the first outtakes...... :lol:

Hi John - I've been doing waxing for nearly two years now - and been with Craftboard since November....I love it here - made so many great friends and learnt a lot too....(i.e. don't try and rescue volcanically hot stylus when it drops off table - don't do wildlife animals with vivid purple noses - see above - and if you're having an iffy day - just come on here and you'll forget everything else) :thumbup;

Hi Di - must say I've got all maternal over Oswald - so I'm putting him a frame in my bedroom today....

Hi M - background is iron and the rest is the wirebrushthingy (mind you I do separate the wires individually for the fine work - really must get out more!!!!)

Hi Jo - ooohhh red squirrels - now there's a thought for next Springwatch - thanks for the idea.

Hi Col - or maybe Tufty-The Revival - (I can't remember Tufty - so I must have already been a grown up when you were all getting your Tufty badges...) :o :(

Love x :wave:

Would it be OK if I just say hello to my little sis Elaine. She's just got Broadband - and has heard so much about you all, she's coming on tonight (I'm showing her how to get on long-distance) and how to post threads - so this'll give her something to start with ( :ta: )

She did a few EA pics when she was here - and was fascinated

:wave: :wave: :wave: :wave: :wave:

HELLO ELAINE :huggy: :knit: (remember your knitted ponchos)
