Congratulations on a magnificent (A4?) landscape! You got wonderful aerial perspective and the bright flowery colours as called for. Your client should be well pleased! |

Steve, I'm sure there's everything your client asked for in this and more. He should be over the moon with it, it's beautiful, and the colours are really striking.

Thanks, folks
I should have said that it's A4, shouldn't I, Barry
There's actually more colours in the foreground, but they don't really show up in the photo' ![]() Maria, I'm trying to build up the courage to try something at A3, when I've got the card, with a more imposing mountain It could be quite an experience as I don't have a hotplate That one should take considerably longer, too ![]() Steve

Oooh...I have my eye on a hotplate (will give you the sale Barry!) as soon as I have saved for it! Birthday next month and I may have enough to meet half the cost, then all I have to do is sell a few more pics and it's all mine! When I did the A2 pic last year, Steve, I used my hot-air tool for the background (after applying the wax all over with the iron. and that worked reasonably well, so maybe try this for the sky on an A3? Just till you get the hotplate anyway! Might be worth a try! Maria x |

Thanks all  Maria, I'll give that a go when I get the card It should, hopefully, save a lot of time ![]() John, the odd thing is, while going larger is daunting, you can actually really get into the detail a whole lot easier Folk here will testify to the fact that I took quite a bit of convincing to go bigger Now, I quite like the space you have to work in Some of the techniques are also much easier in the larger sizes, and make it possible to get the techniques down right so you can use them on smaller pics

Oh Steve - this is absolutely fantastic - the dreamy skies and mountains contrasting with the vivid poppies and foregound is just beautiful.... You must be so thrilled with this painting, and your friend will be blown away (well, not literally) Bet you don't want to part with it now eh???? Love x

The client liked the picture. He then asked what temerature the wax would melt at? In the context of where to hang it. I said the usual, not in direct sun, not over radiators, not behind/above the TV or the fireplace. But as to specific number, I didn't know. I suggested hanging it in the bathroom, and an interesting comment came from him....."I want/like art work so that I can go there and dream about things. I think the bathroom is right."Now, I found that an interesting insight into why we like pictures or artwork.:waxy: Slightly off topic, I also took some of my work that I completed over the weekend to show the girls and he wants one of my parchment pictures.

Well done Steve Beautiful sky When i started doing larger pieces i used a bigger iron, old 60's one with no holes and a large hairdryer, which helped to cover more space!! The 1st one was a bit daunting but after that ......bigger was much better!!!!!! Congrats on this one Steve, hope it's 1st of many more

Terry The waxer smilie (it's using a trestle table
) is a new standard one for us all It's a little big so it's on the "Show All" sheet or you can just use the code:
