Easy Watermark Pictures For Free

Hi all

Canme across this brilliant little FREEWARE (free to use, no charge) program called uMark Lite. It will watermark (i.e. put a faded copyright text or image across your work) multiple pics and it's VERY fast. It is very easy to use and and only 295Kb in size (very small) so won't take ages to download.

I'm just going out now but I will upload my watermarked pictures later to photobucket and let you know so that you can have a look and see if it's for you

You may need something called .NET Framework if it doesn't work but don't worry because there's a link to that on the same page. Let me know what you think of it.

Cheers

I love uMark, John :thumbup; OK, there are plenty of powerful systems out there, but uMark is so easy and fuss free :)

Poppy, uMark is a separate program ;) You just download and then instal it. Then, when you have some pics you want to upload, the first thing to do is to run uMark :thumbup; You can add as many pics as you like (well, up to 50, anyway) and then save them to a new folder (though I tend to stick them on my desktop so I can find them, then either move them or delete them later). It only takes seconds to do :)

1: Open uMark Lite

2: Click on Text and you'll see:

Posted Image

3: Put in the text you want to use. Then click on the big square saying "Click to change" until the text appears where you want it in the preview ;) Next, click on "Select images to apply watermark". At this point, you can also choose the font, font size, font colour, and "opacity" :) I normally use 50% opacity, but adjusting this will make the watermark either less or more visible :thumbup;

4: You'll see Posted Image - just click on "Add Images". That will bring up a standard file dialog box so you can find the pics you want to watermark. You can select more than one at a time ;)

5: That gives you Posted Image - you can see I've entered some files. I also clicked on "Browse" to set where uMark should save the watermarked pics to :thumbup;

6: Finally, click "Start", to do the job, and, when it's done, just close uMark's windows :)

Phew! Took me longer to post all this than it does to actually use the program :r :r :r

Excellent tutorial Steve :thumbup;

I have now updated my photobucket pics with the uMark watermark. Please take a look by clicking my button (pardon the expression :red: )

I think it looks quite professional and as Steve and I both agree, it is easy to use and best of all FREE :thumbup;

To upload them to photobucket I noticed I had to create a new album then delete my original one as it wouldn't allow me to overwrite my none watermarked originals with my new watermarked ones...anyone know how to do this? and does anyone know how to move photobucket pics around in the same album (i.e. in case you want to put them into date order). Again I had to delete them and upload them in a specific order!!! :blink: :blink: :blink:

:ta: John,

In Photobucket, you can rename the images using the edit button, which would then allow you to sort the pics in a different order, though it would break any links you're using ;) If, for example, you put a number first (observing the golden rule of using lleading zeroes to ensure that numeric sorting works correctly), then go to Account Options and choose to sort Alphabetically, that will resort your albums :thumbup;

As far as uploading is concerned, changing the filename works well, but you may want to remove the unwatermarked ones anyway ;) Generally, I delete the old ones and add the watermarked ones using the original file names :)

Hi Poppy :wave:

Have a play around with it and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time. As I said earlier the harder part was getting them in photobucket without renaming and keeping the descriptions etc but now that's done and Steve has given me a few tips then it's working well for me. :thumbup;

If you've got any probs with it give me a shout and I'll help as much as I can...good luck with it and let me know if you sort it.

John
