Well, having spent the last three days working on the final of the four, this is the result. I had to try and make the features of the fairy the same as in the previous painting, which was quite difficult, but since the she was on the other profile I could get away with it not being quite exactly the same! It's so difficult to make exact copies with wax! The dragon was easy though. I was told to try and make him look as though he was protective of her, so I had him coiling his tail round her as they were alerted to something unseen that startled them.

And like the last one, this also has a huge title!

Now I just have to wait and see if the lady likes what I've done with it! :unsure:

Out of interest, how do you do the "splashes" of white bubbles in the waterfall ?

Thanks, Ros! I'm afraid I can't take credit for the water splashes really. I used Jinny's technique of picking up the wax with the stylus and blowing it onto the card. I used masking tape to screen off the bits I didn't want splashed (didn't press it on too much though in case it lifted the wax) and took great care not to burn my lips! :lol:

If the woman doesn't like them (which must be near impossible) then it's quite obvious that she has no taste :thumbup;

The 4 of them make up a wonderful picture book.

You're so talented and I'm so jealous :cry:

What can I say....fabulous

Well done Maria! :sold: :sold: :sold: :sold:

Oooh John...jealousy is such a negative energy! Never give it houseroom, myself! :lol: Anyway.....you have no need of it....your work is good!

I think the lady in question (judging by her previous mails) will be exceedingly pleased. I feel that she and I are on the same wavelength, though her muse (as she keeps going on about) is writing!

Hi M - only a thought and expect it's been said somewhere else - but when you blow - what about cutting a drinking straw down to a couple of inches and blowing through that (think the whole straw would take a lot of puff) ??

Thanks for that Terry...I did try that but....I used a plastic straw, got it too near the end of the stylus and they connected and.....um.....It melted! :lol:

I'll stick with what nature gave me I reckon! :r
