Having spent the last couple of weeks doing things for other people I decided I had to do something for me for a change. Had these two ideas for paintings in my head for days now, so decided that they needed to become something more solid. The first is another faerie. One of my favourite places is Glastonbury and I find it has a very magical atmosphere, so naturally one would expect fairies to be in abundance there! The Glastonbury Faerie ![]() And the second painting came from a title that I'd had runniuing round my head for weeks, so I created the painting round the words. The Dragon of Nevermore ![]() That one is an A4 and the faerie is A5. Maria x NB: Don't what happened before....I copied the correct URL but the first one still came out on here for some reason! Oh well....have another bash and let's see what happens!

If this is a spot-the-difference competition - my answer is the third blade of grass from the bottom is behind the second foxglove on the left, whereas in pic two - it is in front. Where do I collect my prize????? Love x (Mif - you've put same pic on twice) PS Both are lovely - hard to tell which one I like best though

LOL,.. don't you just hate it when that happens ![]() On 'The Glastonbury Faerie' - Wow,.. once agin my jaw drops... I've learnt to ensure that I sit a little away from my desk when viewing pics of yours, as it hurts less when my jaw hits my lap, as opposed to the desk. I love the shading on the body and hair,.. Actually, there's nothing I don't like. Awesome! On the real 'Dragon of Nevermore' This has to be my absolute favourite thing you've ever done. Awesome in every respect. The colours and textures are just excellent, the sunset adds so much to it.. x Col! |

John, I am blessed with a most beautiful daughter, who has Pre-Raphaelite hair (that colour and length) who poses for me (clothed, I hasten to add!) and who most of my fairies are based on, though obviously I change their colouring around a bit for variety. Without Emily, the fairies would have no souls! The rest is just luck I guess!
As to it being seen by my American (or anyone else for that matter) this is now up on auction in my ebay shop, so if anyone wants to prevent her from buying it, get bidding now! )Maria x |
