Tea Bag Folding; Using Postage Stamps

Have you ever thought of using all those postage stamps for tea bag folding.
Just cut around the stamp on the envelope and use as triangle folds only.
I fold across for the triangle, then cut it to shape, then continue.

Just a thought..

Rosanna

Good idea!! I get so many letters, what a great way to save the stamps. I also have a bunch of two penny ones from when the price went up that I will never use again cause I can guarantee I will lose them the second the price goes up again.. :ta:

Sounds a bit fiddly but worth a try. Hope it doesn't mean we're defacing the Queens head and end up in trouble though! :r

I think it probably does Jo, that means we could get carted off to the Tower of London and lose our heads?

Off with their heads!!!! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: (all the stamp using tea bag folders losing their heads)???

Sounds like a great idea to me - and a clever way to share stamps between countries :thumbup; :ta: Rosanna :thumbup; Just a thought, don't decorate the outside of envelopes/boxes with used stamps, though - the phosphor dots may cause delivery problems ;)

I don't think I have the eye sight required for this idea! I can't seam to find any really nice stamps either! The queen's head is not my idea of decoration! Is that unpatriotic?

Puss, folding the Queen's head could get you put in the Tower :r :r I know I'd need those huge foreign stamps with exotic flowers/animals/etc. ;)

I used some stamps on the last batch of ATC's for the garden theme. I had tried folding but they were too thick for it.

If you have duplicates of a stamp, or can copy a stamp by scanning it in, you could create standard tea bag tiles or even the artificial tea bag graphics (Smoffi has some "faux tea bags" on her site ;) ) :thumbup; It could be interesting to use both those and the real stamps in co-ordination :)

Good idea Steve! My mom always asks for the pretty stamps at the post office, so I get lots of the nice Canadian ones. I'm still a little wary of our post lady so I take whatever she gives me.

Virginia, I remember having an old stamp album where the cover was a simple photograph of stamps, like a collage :thumbup; That kind of thing could make such a nice background :) Or stamps combined with travelling type clip art (suitcases, trunks, that sort of thing) ;)
