How big should ATCs be? If there any standard way of packing? Is there a theme every month? How do we decide who gets whose work?

We??? I seem to have joined in already!

hi gymbob, they are the size of a playing card, you can put them in little cellos or poly bags,
jinny sets up the theme (or like this month, there was a vote) we send 3 to her with a stamped self addressed envelope and she gets to choose who gets what.

go on go on go on! you know you want to! :thumbup; pm jinny if you want to take part,she will tell you what to do! :thumbup; this months theme is reflections, you can use any medium you like and the date for sending is 30th (i think)!
Its such fun! :thumbup;

Blimey, that was quick!

Well, that certainly has potential! How obliquely can I reference the theme? This may drive DH mad, as I start producing all sorts of bits!

Kim, I intend to mix literal and interpretive ;) It's one of the beauties of ATCs, that you can get back so many different results :thumbup;

Hi Gymbob, don't forget to use a heavier card, and also a backing sheet for your details on the back.
The accepted size is 2.5" x 3.5". I round the corners also .
Your details on the back should be;

User name;
Theme;
Medium used;
Series no/series issue.
Sign your name;

Be as precise and fussy as you would be for making your cards. Steve and Jinny has made templates, if I remember rightly, to go on the back of your cards for the details.

Hope this is helpful Gymbob. Have fun creating them. I do :yip:

Anything, you can do on the theme in any way you want to. I used tea bagging for a mandala theme. That was the only way i could interpretate it in my field of craft thinking. I hate the normal mandalas but like the tea bag effect, so I used that.
Virginia did a love example of her mandala. If you scroll through this thread of ATC's you'll see plenty of examples of ATc's for you to work your ideas.
BE AWARE THOUGH!!! IT IS VERY ADDICTIVE!!!

Hi Jen,

I suggested 'reflections' as a theme, and I kind of thought that you could interpret it however you thought about the word.

Some might think literally - like something reflected in a mirror, or off of water (that sort of thing)

Some might think more figuratively - like remembering something, or thinking about something.

There's no right or wrong at all,.. and that's what makes ATC's so fun in my opinion.

Here are some ideas that might help:

Using silver things to make the ATC, like silver ink, silver paper, sequins or glitter to reflect the viewers face when they look at the ATC.

A meaningful picture of something or someone.

What about putting some poetry on the card.

How about two things which are opposites,.. like a blackbird and a dove.. or something depicting good and evil.
