Both are lovely Ros, but I especially like the first one - it's outstanding - so unusual and almost 3D - very very clever technique.... and the way you've framed it, really sets it off.......Love x

Your "very old" hotplate seems to be working OK Ros! Purple Swirls is beautiful. I CAN sell you a brand new hotplate but they are LOTS of pennies! |

NICE Hi Ros Purple Swirls is my favourite but there is something about Carnival Chaos that makes me keep going back and having another look...there's so much going on. I know you have called it 'Carnival Chaos' but I keep seeing a nautical theme....hmmm I feel hypnotised by it so I have changed my mind and would say 'Nautical Noise' er...sorry 'Carnival Chaos' is now my fave....then again..... Bottom line both are fab

Hey thanks all... Hmmmm,, I see what you mean about the nautical bit now John,,, perhaps it is the "waves" at the bottom .... Barry,, yes, I know how many pennies they are Only prob with the one I am using is that I cant fit anything larger than A5 on it. But I am guessing I will stick with that one for quite a long time yet

I like them both Ros. "Carnival chaos" reminds me of lots of knights on horseback, complete with lances and a tent in the background
. Very midevil from my viewpoint. Funny how different people see things differently
That's the beauty of encaustic art.

Ros,In the lovely pastel one, I can see a figure, a sailor dressed in an old fashioned sailor suit. He is amongst the masts/lances, and quite big. I find the first one makes me want to feel it, it has a tactile quality to it. Both very good. |

Maria,, I know you are going to just love your hotplate. The patterns on these were just made using blocks,, a torn up washing up sponge, and bits of torn cardboard. But I am a real newbie to using a hotplate! Di, and John Yep , see what you mean about the lances,, Medieval Mayhem is a great name for it. Thanks Jen As you say, I think one of the greatest attractions of Encaustic is the differences in what people see. |
