Well, I got home earlier than expected and had an hour or so to play with the hotplate this morning. Never used one before, so it's totally alien to me, and the experience was interesting to say the least!

This is the first attempt at an abstract using this method. No title for this as yet, but if anyone can suggest one, I'd certainly consider it!

Hotplate Abstract 1

This'll make you laugh.....when I'd finished I was COVERED in wax! Looked in the mirror as I washed my hands and even my face was spattered! :r Good job I checked before I went out!

Right...got paintings to deliver to the exhibiton hall so I'd better get going!

WOW! - That's really pretty Maria.

For some reason it reminds me of a carnival. I guess it's the richness and vibrancy of colour you've used.

You can almost feel the energy within each stroke!

Well Done!

Why can't I ever think up great titles like that, Barry? Mine would have more than likely been 'After the Bunfight!'

Will decide when and if any other's put forward a title!

:thumbup; :thumbup; :thumbup; This is beautiful Maria - how about Soul of the Psyche, I don't know why it just strikes me as very phsychedelic and soulful, and that was the best I could come up with - or maybe Psychedelic Vision? :huggy: Sylvia

These colours are beautiful together Maria.I can imagine loud rock music playing to this. how about cosmic meltdown?

To ALL. Sorry if i don't seem to have been on much lately. :( :( There's a good reason. I've got myself hooked on card making. It seems to have taken over my life! :groan I do still intend to do encaustic, but must get the card bug out of my system a bit first. :rlol: :rlol: Helen will upload some of them in the near future, when she gets a few spare miniuts. :crossed: :ghug:

Well, thank-you everyone for suggesting a title! Some really good ideas came out and it's been really hard to choose which I prefer. I had thought of trying to combine them all, but then again a painting with the title:

'The Liquorice Allsort Cosmic Meltdown Colour Storm at the Soul of the Psyche Freedom Carnival After the Bullfight'

was taking things a bit too far! :r

So I went with the lovely title that Colin put in my mind:

'Carnival'

Thanks Col! :thumbup;

Aww, but I likes the big title, Maria  :r :r

Di, nothing worse than letting actual crafting get in the way of your internet time :r

Don't know yet, Terry. Might frame it and see how it looks then maybe show it at some point. Might be a bit too radical for the conservative audiences in the villages round here though!

I have a feeling they're only for 'super duper special people' John.. :lolol:

Nah, this wasn't an official craftboard competition, which is what those shiny trinkets are all about.

Don't worry, I've my eye set on one in the future,.. :)

But Maria's adoption of my suggestion is prize enough for me.
