I finally had some time and called and they said the lady who taught the class was over there so I went over and got to be on my own with her. It was so much fun! I'm going to take the pottery classes next.
I made a pig for practice and a platter. I am going tomorrow too to make some more platters and cups as well.
I wish I had done this earlier!

I took 2 certificated courses and really enjoyed myself. I did my version of Art Deco, Clarice Cliff type flat slab vases etc for my 1st certificate and William Moorecroft vases for my 2nd certificate and had to write up about the firm. It was the year they celebrated their 200(?) aniversary. Couldn't do the Flambe technique though?
It is so thereputic to work in clay. Has anyone tried working with clay with granulated baked clay into it?( crank I think it's called)? The results are beauitful, like stone ware but with a roughish texture, I saw some pottery done like that at my local gala on Saturday?

i did that poppy, mixed smashed up fired clay into wet, and made a bowl, it gives a very rough finish, its going to be glazed this week so hopefully i can show you the results, you can buy clay with the grog (gritty bits) in, as poppy says its called crank clay, we brought some resently, it has a fantastic modeling feel, lovely for hand building and that sort of thing but you cant really throw with it as it can cut up your hands! there are so many different types of clay! and so little time! :D

I have had so many meetings this week I haven't had a chance to go back and finish them, that's ok though I'll make time next week as it is supposed to get very hot and humid, I'd rather be indoors for that!
