Hi all, just thought I would show you a few picies of my experiments... this wall plaque was made by pushing objects into the clay and carfully lifting them out to reveal its impression. Being a crafter there are all sorts of things in it......how many can you spot???? ![]() these next ones are tiles.....I used rice on these. The rice is rolled in and left to burn out in the kiln. I call them my " Ecoli bacteria" tiles.... ![]() ![]() magz |

I counted twelve! What I want to know is did the keys work afterwards.
The rice tiles are so cool! They would make a wicked surround for a fireplace. I really like those! |

thanks for the lovely comments ladies I wanted to make a slab pot with the sides made of the rice tiles....but alas I ran out of time.....maybe next term I will have another go. I am trying to get the hang of using the wheel at the moment, and 2 hours one night a week just flies!!!! magz

Great work, Mags Love the crafting piece
The rice ones made me think (did anybody hear the scream of pain ) - athat makes a fantastic foliage effect! Combined with some strokes of a sculpting tool, you could quite easilly make tiles/pots/etc. with trees/bushes on them - even something like a willow pattern ![]() Steve
