Hi all, just thought I would show you a few picies of my experiments...

this wall plaque was made by pushing objects into the clay and carfully lifting them out to reveal its impression.

Being a crafter there are all sorts of things in it......how many can you spot????

these next ones are tiles.....I used rice on these. The rice is rolled in and left to burn out in the kiln.

I call them my " Ecoli bacteria" tiles....

I counted twelve! What I want to know is did the keys work afterwards. :lol:
The rice tiles are so cool! They would make a wicked surround for a fireplace. I really like those!

thanks for the lovely comments ladies :thumbup;

I wanted to make a slab pot with the sides made of the rice tiles....but alas I ran out of time.....maybe next term I will have another go.

I am trying to get the hang of using the wheel at the moment, and 2 hours one night a week just flies!!!! :D

Great work, Mags :thumbup; Love the crafting piece :D

The rice ones made me think (did anybody hear the scream of pain :blink: ) - athat makes a fantastic foliage effect! Combined with some strokes of a sculpting tool, you could quite easilly make tiles/pots/etc. with trees/bushes on them - even something like a willow pattern :thumbup;

Steve :)
