I've just bought some really nice tea bag papers with pictures on from paper nation. They have surfing dudes and disco divas on etc. I have tried and tried but I can't find away of folding and putting together which allows the complete picture to reappear whole. Can any one help me? Can anyone understand what I mean more to the point!!??!! HELP! PLEASE! |

Hi Puss, I do a lot of tea bag folding but I have to confess I hate putting pictures together. I like to fold pretty papers, nice shiny glittery shimmery ones. I think I was a magpie in my last life cos anything remotely shiny I immediately buy and shash away!!! There are so many pitfalls with pictures that I gave them up early on. I think the kite fold and the double malteese are the only folds that will enable you to get a repeat picture , but then you'd have to fold different bits everytime to get a completed picture? Maybe you could scan a backing sheet of the picture and do a fold to show just a section of the main picture to compliment it??? Does that help??? Hope it does. Poppy

Puss, the principle is to fold each successive tea bag so that the visible area is at 45 degrees to the previous one
We could probably show you easier than explain it in just words but you will need a sheet of tiles printed out with a picture on for practice
If we can squeeze some time out of the tube, we'll try to do a photo tut ![]() Steve |

I find pictures quite hard to fold too. Do scan it and let us see what it is like and no doubt someone will be able to help.

Puss if this works you should have a link to a tea bag drawn demo by Steve. http://craftboard.50webs.com/tbag/tbag1.html When you have folded what the end fold is in the demo that is the single maltese fold. Fold 4 more and slide them inbetween and it becomes a double maltese fold. Poppy

I have been busy experimenting and have had several successes! Still trying to use a variety of folds and inspiration! Will post as soon as I get something I am happy with!

Excellent news, Puss Somehow, we got kind of distracted recently
Mind you, we sat in a cafe with Kellie and Damo yesterday and Jenny soon had Kellie folding empty sugar sachets made both a medallion and a dragon
The guy at the counter was watching with some fascination but pretended disinterest when Kellie offered to leave the dragon for him
