well thats it! no more pottery for 10 weeks! :weep:

these are the masks I made and brought home this week

this one is made in red marl clay, it has a lovely sandy texture and is a dark red. It is glazed with grape splash which on this dark clay resembles moss or litchen!

and this one was made using the same mould but with craft crank which is really gritty, and wonderfull for models, glazed in clear and honey glaze sponged on, this one was so cracked that I dindnt think it would survive! but it looks like something dug up from an ancient roman palace!

both im very pleased with, we made a plaster cast of the face so we can make some more, the orginal mask mould is really for paper mache and not really suitable for clay, I would like to make a couple more and have them hung in a line in my stair well! :thumbup;

Love the masks, Catherine :thumbup; Be careful nobody thinks you've snaffled an antiquity with the second one :D

You'll have to bulk buy lots of DAS airdry modelling clay to get you through the 10 weeks :r
