Pretty good first attempts! The first one reminded me of sharks. The second one is just amazing.....and even more so when the colours are inverted! You show a lot of promise. Only trouble is, once you start waxing you can't stop! Looking forward to seeing a lot more from you! Maria x |

Some lovely pictures and colours. I started to do some waxing a while ago, but don't have enough time, but hopefully will get back into it. Equipment is just sitting there waiting! I'll be back to square one again!

Tephy, wot av I told you about the 3rd line in photobucket ?, Me and my brain cell cannot remember what we are commenting on?? From what i can remember of them Tephy I think you are off to a good start. There is a lot of techniques in there you probably don't realise you could do, smoothing water, transparent water, skies, dabbing, foliage not getting a mauddy mess. Being able to see into and make sense of your paintings also. Well done. I can see you are going to enjoy this wax art a lot? Poppy

Hi Tephy and welcome, for your first attempts these are really good. I'm still trying to get the hang of encaustics myself. I'm sure you will get lots of help from everyone here.

A great start, Tephy; you'll soon find different ways etc to make effects. I hope you continue to enjoy EA for as long as I have. I started so long ago that my first attempts have long gone but I don't remember them being as good as yours. I used to muddy the colours a lot at the start by overworking (trying much too hard to make something specific happen, I suspect) but I've learnt to overcome that now! |

Hi Tephy....lovely first attempts and great colours....you can hardly believe the different patterns and effects you get from wax.... Never thought of inverting colours - will fly over to photoshop and put some of my old pics in......just to see how they come out.... Really looking forward to seeing your next pics...... Love x
