I thought I would upload my very first ever wax pic! I didnt have a stylus at the time, just the iron and a scraper! it was produced in true twinthing fashion, on the kitchen counter top and I have kept it in an album with some of my other work! I would recommend that you keep your work just so that you can see how your own style evolves!

:thumbup; That is a brilliant first effort! Not surprised you kept it.

I think I may have my first effort somewhere, but it was nowhere near as good as this! I did a landscape and just couldn't get the birds to look anything other than B52 bombers! :lol: If I can find it, I'll dig it out and post it, and you can all have a good laugh! :P

Can't see much wrong with it, Catherine :D Sunlit white bark - perfect ;)

I believe my first efforts are actually in my album here :r Now that's frightening - still being happy to show them :r :r :r

My first ever attempt was at my MIL at the top of the stairs on a large piece of old table top!, I have never taken a pic of my 1st because I framed it and gave it to my twin sister :thumbup;

I will try to remember to take my camera next time I am at her house :thumbup;

most of my 1st attempts were quite good, I started getting problems when I actually wanted my pic to look like something specific...

I think if you just go into it with no pic in mind you get a better outcome at the beginning.

But I think the best part of EA is the exploring and experimenting with different colours, techniques and tools - I use everything from a plastic pen top to my fingers :lol:

Sally

I have seen a few childrens pics and they are fab as they have no preconceptions and just do it.. :thumbup;

Catherine, your one was and is really good......here's mine (just look at those dreadful birds! I was going to post the ROFL emote here, but it won't let me!)

I'm quite glad I never destroyed this though, but when I look at what I am capable of now, I sometimes want to! Just goes to show all the newbies to EA that it really doesn't take long to become proficient.

We are a growing art movement, just like those who have gone before. I reckon that between us we are producing some fantastic pieces, and we'll continue to do so!

Good feeling, isn't it?!

I dont think I feel feel very lucky if one of them pooped on my head (or is it shoulder) :r

Was you an artist before EA Maria?, I would have put you down to an artist all your life really :P

Spot on, Sally! Some of my non-encaustic earlier work is on my website. Click on the Black Cat Gallery link and go to the galleries to see some. I rarely paint in anything other than EA these days, though I sometimes have an urge to get the oils out again. Soon wears off though!
