I am off to another big Car Boot on Sunday, I am going to keep my eye out for frames, as I know that I have seen some really old and unusual ones in the past, but never had a use for it :thumbup; , I have put the Red/Pink blown poppies in a clipframe for my MIL as a gift, and it looks really effective, I was going to buy a mount and thick frame but I am not sure what she would like, so I thought a 59p clipframe was the safest bet :thumbup;

Maria, definitely unfreamed :r :r

Sally, charity shops are often good sources, too :thumbup; Unfortunately, most car boot sales around here are on rough grass or deep gravel :rolleyes: My wheels don't turn very well, and no suspension makes the bouncing murderous ;)

A word to the wise, Sally. If you are thinking of exhibiting, a lot of them don't allow clip-frames.

Good luck with the boot sale! :thumbup;

Maria, I wouldnt dream of submitting a clip frame to an exhibition :r :r :r :r

I got the cheap clip frame just really to present it to my MIL and then she can decide where she wants to hang it and what colour scheme...

I may be able to get some nice ones from the Car boot though for exhibitions, old are acceptable arnt they?

Old are OK, but if you get some real old collectable antiques you might find people buy the painting for the frame rather than your work! :lol:

I always deter people from using clip frames with wax.
Unless there's a mount (keeping the wax and glass apart), the high places in the texture of the wax get squashed and can look quite strange.
