Hi all

Colin and Si found this cute little mouse a couple of weeks ago - they wanted to keep it, but knew they couldn't...so let it go...

Just to let you know he's safely back in his little underground nest - as this pic shows.....he says if you'd care to put a bit more of that brie out tonight, he'd be most grateful..... (grate-full) :groan

He is such a cute little mouse. I am soooo pleased that he is happy in his nest. He looks so comfortable, as if he is wrapped in silk.

I thought I would just check in before I get the iron out. Now it has gone a bit cooler :yip: I thought I might just do a bit of encaustic. I don't know if I am feeling very creative but I will give it a go.............who knows what may turn up.

Keep feeding that mouse!

Brilliant Terry, it looks so realistic, and I have to agree with Butterfly, he looks as though he is wrapped in silk, his eyes are beautiful.

Hi  Butterfly (welcome), Sally, Mif, Willow and Amanda.....

:ta: ever so for that......Colin was so reluctant to let Mousey go....so I asked him if I could do a pic of him (from the mouse photo)....this is a bit of a surprise for when he gets home later....

Mif - I just looked at your fairy tut, and couldn't do anything as good as that, but if you'd all like, I'll do another baby animal and photograph it in stages, and give a brief idea of how it's done....

Would that be any good.???....you will need to spend about 4 hours scratching.....   (yes folks, that's how I've spent the last two days    ) v. sad person...... scratch......

Any ideas for baby countryside animals???? Trap door spiders not accepted

Terry, your eye for detail in creating this tiny creature is brilliant. He looks very much at home.

Hope one day I can create a piece of art like this

:o :ta: Oh, he's absolutely gorgeous Terry! :ta: :o

I find it totally amazing that you can get such incredible detail and character in your paintings.

As Maria quite rightly pointed out, you really are the master when it comes to creating these masterpieces.

It was such a wonderful surprise seeing him again!

Si's face lit up when he saw 'Montegeue' again as well...

Thank you so much...

I can take that kind of scratching! In this heat, all I've had to scratch is heat rash!

It'd take you a while (my fairy tut took ages) but I think we'd all learn from it Terry. I'd love to know how you do it!

Best of luck with it!

Am I completely stupid.  I thought he was real!!

Here's the original pic,... so everyone can see what a remarkable job Terry has done with him.

(I hope you don't mind Terry, but seeing your painting alongside just shows the immense detail you've captured)
