Anyone recommend any brokers...

the one I have used until now has decided to terminate cover of craft events  so I had best sort something out fairy shapish.

BTW - I am at Layer Marney Tower, Essex -Sun 27th and Mon 28th Aug.
From memory of last year, disabled access was not good, as there were steps into the hall and around the grounds... although I think there may have been a ramp for alternative access to the hall.

:r I've now got a mental image of you with wings! :P

I'm not sure if they cover craft fairs, but I am told that if you join the SAA part of that membership covers insurance.

Might be worth looking into.

Good luck at Layer Marney!

Ros, there are several listed on http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=cra...yUK%7CcountryGB (some of those listed are for boats, mind ;) ) :thumbup;

I'll add the Layer Marney event to the Calendar :) Shame if access is a problem :(

I belong to the SAA and have enquired about the insurance that comes with membership. It won't cover the Public Liabilty element if you're demonstrating encaustic art (I think "normal" media are OK to demonstrate!) but pictures themselves would be insured as far as I can gather.
Probably best to ask directly to the SAA.

Just an update on disabled access to Layer Marney Tower :) I received the following from them today:

Quote:

Steve,

Wheelchair access to the craft fair is not perfect.  You would be welcome to
park in the nearby church car park.  From the church car park access to the
Long Gallery is along a gravel path with a slight incline and steps.  Once
you are at the Long Gallery (where most of the craft stalls are located) we
have a ramp and most of the Long Gallery is on the first floor.

Regards,

Emma

A further update on disabled access to Layer Marney Tower :)

Hello Steve
Thank you for your enquiry addressed to Emma.  Once at the end of the gravel
path, if you turn left you will see a ramp at the end (Church side) which
will take you to the upper level of the garden and the Gallery, there is a
ramp there to gain access to the Craft Fair.

Hope this is of help to you.
