another one of the set of masks Ive made, this one was an experiment mixing white clay with a red marl clay, it gives a beautiful marble effect, glazed in clear, it will be mounted with the other two masks,

and to use up the scraps of marbled clay I made this bowl,
I used stoneware clay as the base, addded the cut out oak leaves and made the acorns, glazed again in clear glaze, the bowl is an organic shape......lends itself nicely to the oak leaves and acorns, also its nice to see the raw colour of the clay when its been fired, but with a slight gloss.

Well Done Catherine :thumbup; , your mask is brill although I find masks knd of scary, my sister used to have all carved masks in her house and they used to freak me out!

I love your bowl, the acorn and leaves really set it off :thumbup; very unusual :thumbup;

:rolleyes: Like some of the others I'm not a mask person, my daughter and SIL bought some beautiful ones in Venice on their honeymoon, but they give me the shivers! :r But even so if you like it, that is the main thing!

Love the bowl, the oak leaves and acorns are lovely. :thumbup;

I too am not keen on masks but the ones I dont like are the ones were that have eye holes! mags made one like mine but left holes in the eyes and they do look freaky when you can see a pair of real eyes looking back! mine look quite peacefull on my wall, its funny what sort of things make us feel edgy, personaly I cant stand clowns! * shudders* :blink: :blink: :blink:
