I started Ceramic classes again just befoe Christmas. I even have the same teacher I had over twenty years ago. I love it!! I am going to go once a week in the evening after work. I already have some picture frames and angels to do up. I am learning new techniques. I will take pics when I get them done. :yip: :yip: :yip: :yip:

That's great Carol! I started ceramics but the place I was going is about 15 miles away which doesn't sound bad but it's 15 miles of farm roads and you know what they're like in the winter! ;)
Can't wait to see your stuff!

Carol, I am looking forward to seeing some pics of your work. I haven't gotten into ceramics ......yet! <_< Sally & Simon bought me a glass painting kit for Christmas so will be busy with that soon.

Did you see the ceramic plaque that Catherine did for Sally (Secret Santa)? It has the house number on and is decorated with butterflies it's really lovely.

So hurry and get some photos posted on here of your work

Wonderful news, Carol :thumbup; And what a wonder - to have the same teacher after so long :) So many people refuse to go back toi things, but it's often very rewarding to do so, especially things we gave up because of other pressures or commitments in life ;)

our teacher is the same one that we had at school 20 years ago too! odd isnt it! :blink: and he still talks to the class as if we are a bunch of school kids! his last " who is responisble for this" speach was so funny! me and my sisters were sniggering so loudly he must have wondered what was going on! :thumbup;

Thought I was behind on my "homework" of base coating and antiqueing but we don't have class till next Tuesday so I still have this week to get things prepped for dry brushing the angels. I have to figure out how to put mom's picture into the frame. Maybe after fixing it in the center, I could use decorative braid around the edge? Any ideas? Then the little angel is glued to the upper corner of the frame. Have six of them to do. Four for siblings and dad then two others with their loved one's pictures in them.

Carol, not sure what kind of frames, but how about a lace edging? I think that could look fabulous, emphasising your Mom being a beloved Lady :huggy:

:thumbup; :ta: Good ideas. I started doing the angels that gets fixed onto the top of the frame. The new techniques are getting easier little by little. Thank heavens my instructor is so patient!! Well, 5 school jackets are waiting for me to embroider names on them. I was told there were alot more waiting for me after I do these. I thought they would slow down after Christmas. Oh well it brings a little extra spending money. :blush:
