Hi guys Firstly wanted to say a big Happy New Year to you all. It's lovely to be back after all the seasonal madness. :ghug: I have a quick question......talking to a friend the other day who has been waxing for some time now. She told me to save all my old xmas cards as many of them are an ideal surface to wax on. So question is...anyone else tried this and if so how were the results? Amanda xxx |

Hi Manda Hope you had a good Christmas & New Year , havnt heard from you but knew you would be busy
I was told about the cards when I first started waxing but found that the result was hit & miss, some worked okay some not too good <_< In the end I decided I was wasting more wax than saving money on the card so ditched the idea. I do save all my old cards though and make tags out of them for Christmas, just cut out the picture you want with some fancy scissors, you can even punch a hole and add matching ribbon etc.. (saving pennies)
Good to see you back Manda, we will have to get together for a coffee soon Say hi to Michelle ![]() Sally (and Lou
) xx

Welcome back, Amanda And a Happy New Year ![]() I must confess, we keep all our Christmas cards, but not for recycling
Somehow, neither of us can bring ourselves to reuse them

most cards are of such a low quality card that they arnt much use, occasionaly you might find some but they usualy have printing on the backs.....I have just recieved 3 tesco bags of this years cards which I recycle after cutting them into bits! I have however used the shiney card that comes in the mens shirts packages, hubs purchased a number of these last year and they had a white shiny card piece between the front of the package and the back of the shirt.

Thanks everyone. It looks like it must be trial and error. Great to be back, hope to join in some monthly challenges this year. Sally, we must do lunch sweetie darling, lol. Have had this awful cold thing all over Christmas and New Year (cue violins, lol). Babe's still loving her jumper and I WILL get a photo to you, promise! (p.s both West Hallam craft fairs just been confirmed for this year and you're booked in for both) I find it hard too cutting up the cards. I did it last year to make tags like you said sally but when it came to wrapping them this year I forgot where I put them! I'm having far too many blonde moments recently...worrying, lol!! Thanks again everyone Amanda xxxxx :ghug: |
