Just added the exhibition to my website, so for those of you who can't get to Colchester Library, don't despair!

Just go Here to see 'Strange Profiles' and click on the first thumbnail, which will lead you through the individual paintings.

Thanks everyone.

Jen, it's all encaustic wax. I really wanted to promote that medium as much as promoting my artwork.

Went in today and found a couple of paintings had slipped a it down the rods, so I quickly put them right. I see they have given me a guestbook, even though I said on the forms that I didn't want one. Unfortunately, because I hadn't got my glasses with me, I couldn't make out what the first entry said! Maybe just as well? :P

Anyway, took a few more pics, though I am still trying to get to grips with this digital camera (and not very well either) so if they are a bit blurred, I do apologise!

None of me.....they steal your soul, you know! :P

Never say 'Never' Steve!

I saw some of your watercolours the other day when I was having a quick browse on CB and they are fantastic! I'm sure you could get enough work together to have an exhibition at some point! It's be such a shame to hide all those beautiful paintings away forever!

Something to work towards maybe?

Just one of those things, Maria :) They may be in hiding somewhere, or they may have been sucked into our infamous wandering black hole that loves snaffling things

Looks good, Maria.
I'll try to get in o see it sometime.
Those rods can be a nuisance. Sometimes, I've put little bits of sellotape to stop the hook part sliding. That does make it difficult for the next person though so i try to fold the end of the tape over itself to facilitate easy removal after the show.

Comments books usually achieve some nice (somtimes helpful even !) comments but they also attract the idle graffiti maniac!

:thumbup; Thanks for the tip about the rods Barry.

Having worked in that building for more years than I care to remember (I still bear the mental scars! :r ) I know exactly the kind of comments a guestbook could attract from certain members of the public! Might raise a few giggles though, so I'm not too worried! You never know...they may have even learned joined-up-writing by now!

Do you get to keep the comments after the exhibition ends? They never really said!

So far, all I have overheard while I was there was quite favourable, so that was encouraging.

Hope you get to see it! :thumbup;

I think Colchester Library kept the comments book for some reason.
None of the other libraries where I've exhibited kept it though. Some of them discourage a comments book because of all the brainless scribblings.

It's quite nice whilst you're hanging pictures, isn't it? You usually get several interested people having a look and asking questions.

Hopefully, red dots will soon be appearing.

Yes, it was nice to chat to people as we put everything together. One lady asked if I'd been to Egypt to learn to paint with wax because I'd made reference to the Fayum Portraits on an info sheet! I wish...though maybe in a past life?

I think I may need to borrow those red-spotted spectacles I did for you for a while, Barry! :P
