:(

this morning I found my beautiful ceanothus on its side this its roots in the air :cry:

we have had so much wind and rain recently :angry: it looked unsteady last weekend so I got O.H to steak it up, but to no avail. :cry:

it leaves a large gap behind. I had a lovely yellow lanten clematis growing though it which will servive, I pruned that right back a few weeks ago, now it will have nothing to ramble through :(

Its too wet underfoot to remove the tree today, the lawn is like a swomp, so next weekend weather permiting we will have to get a saw out and chip what we can for mulch.

sniff sniff.

Thats always gutting Magz...........I am having to leave all my plants in my garden behind :weep: :weep: :weep: My weeping willow which despite all the wind and rain we have had in recent months is doing really really well :( and I love my fir trees too-two recently have been up rooted by the winds we have had-I have just left them tho and hope that the next people in my house love the garden.

Look at it this way-in the spring you can go to the garden centres and look for something to go in it's place ;)

Its awful when these things happen, We lost our Eucalyptus Tree in the high winds, I was gutted as it was a gorgeous healthy tree and in the perfect spot, but now it just bare, did think about planting another but the same thing could happen again, and luckily with it being a massive tree it didnt hurt anyone or damage anything which is the main thing ;)

thanks ladies, its so sad to see it lolling around on the ground, its raining again today, :(

I shall plant another one or two ceanothus bushes there. The noise of buzzing bees on its flowers was a great thing to hear :D

I have some other smaller shrubs underneath it that don't look too squashed so the gap will fill eventually. :thumbup;

thats if the ivy and bloomin sycamore saplings dont go mad ;) :blink:

What a shame, it was such a gorgeous colour too. Hope the wind and rain die down and let you get on with your gardening.
