My lovely husband has booked a cruise for Easter part sea and part river in Portugal and I fancy knitting a shrug to take for the evenings. He thinks the rest and sun will help me convalesce, plus it's a birthday treat! Bearing in mind I'm a slow knitter it will have to be quick to knit up! Does any know a site with patterns or can suggest a pattern, I saw one in Readicut but it needed a circular needle which I didn't fancy for a large garment! I know Catherine crochets her shrugs but I'm not good at following crochet patterns. any help welcome.

Jo I know that when Lou makes them she doubles up the DK to make chunky and uses large needles Sally |

Worsted weight over here is mainly what sold here, bear in mind we do get a bit of a chill in the air sometimes. It's just a thicker weight.

Knowing me and knitting I need the right wool! Thanks for the comments though Sally and Virginia. I'm still wondering what to do. Guess it means a trip to the wool shop, and the lady is so pleased to see you she talks for ages or until amother customer comes in. My leg doesn't take well to standing too long, and I hate to be rude to her and say I can't talk - if she gave me a chair I'd be there all day! <_< |
