We have found 60 slabs for £1 each so we are going to collect them and drop some at DH`s daughters ,(she lives about 6 miles from the slabs!)... then we will collect as and when... I am worriewd about our apparent light weight greenhouse though as the wind has been chronic here!.... my indoor onions are coming up but not the red ones in the garden ... part of the back fence has blown down but its not ours , just inconvenient as we have 2 dogs! plus all the debris is in my garden with electric cable still attached!!! Jen, on the lightness of your greenhouse, you could add polythene along the bottom 12 inches inside, to form a pocket with the PVC, and fill with sand That would lend quite significant weight
That part is usually unneeded anyway, for growing purposes
Given what I've seen happen with glasshouses, and the dire consequences of glass flying about, PVC is a much dafer option
Sorry the fence is down One big advantage with having sturdy, woody shrubs growing next to fences
The slabs were a great find though ![]() Steve |

V...Yes I hope so too!! ....... so far he doesnt seem to have noticed its down!....and it does kind of feel as if ... when you are new here .. all fences attached to neighbours are automatically your responsibility!! our fron garden has 4 foot larchlap all round and we also have a gate made of it in between the houses and it all needs attention ... the wind is terrific here aas we are so high up... re the back though .... I need that sorted asap as i cant let jet go in there only on the lead and if she gets a sniff of his pond the other side she will be in it !!! like the time when my Jin doggy sat for us when we were viewing houses.... she opened the back door ,(Jin didnt remember about her door opening antics!! then she thought she would play in the pond with the fish, after that she thought she would go find Jin and wipe her feet all over the beds!! Jinnny was not amused and she hasnt looked after her since!!! I wonder if that the reason she moved so far away????!!! Jenx |
