Yesterday we levelled the ground and laid the slabs in position for the greenhouse base ... dear hubby went to the building shop and ordered cement and sand etc for tomorrow....

i will do it on thursday says DH... then Jen hears the weather forecast for tomorrow .... thundersorms and torrential rain!!! Great and typical of our luck ...

so today we picked up some bags of ready made stuff and he has done it so it is now all wrapped up in polythene to keep it dry and i have planted my 2 Acer trees that i bought myself from Focus , today... £15.99 down to £5.99

If the weather is nice we might start preparing for the patio ... not looking forward to all the work as its going to be quite big ,( that reminds me i need to measure up!!

bye for now ,

Great progress Jen and it will be well worth it when you are sitting in a gorgeous garden come summer :thumbup; Go steady though you dont want to wear yourself out :faint:

Those Acers were a great find at £5.99 :thumbup;

Hubby is off work all week next week to get the garden in order, I am just praying the weather holds up, a spot of rain is a perfect excuse for him to sit down and watching a few films, read a few books..... and before you kow it he has forgotton all about the gardening :groan and if it goes the other way and he is out there all week, he will end up having a week off work with a bad back :groan Cant win :rolleyes:

Well today in our garden it is dark, cold and wet, so not good for our jobs we are in the middle of!!!!

Hubby has done some filling in on Jets wall digging in the kitchen !!!

Meanwhile we live in hopes that the rain stops so we can start to build my new greenhouse!!

I also have to walk the dog!! yesterday she had DH over twice while being unsociable to a dog so i have said i will have to do both walks myself from now as i have a BIT more control!!

I have been meaning to do my ironing (laundry) now for about 3 weeks and every time I go to do it, I plug in the wrong iron :o

Still Hubby hasnt complained about anything not being ironed yet, he has that many tops he hasnt missed the ones that are sitting in the ironing basket :lol: ;)

The sand has arrived and i walked the dog without getting wet ... its a headachy day today so as i have taken my pills i may just fall asleep over the ironing board.. cant think of a better place to do it really :r :r :r :r :r

Our bulbs, crocuses and such are starting to sprout! yay!
I hope Jet behaves for you Jen! My nephew's name is Jet. He doesn't walk well on a leash either. :r :r

V.... I wouldnt exactly call gardening fun... very hard work is what i call it!!

Jet has her own private residence in the garden ... her wire pen with 2 ornamental gates!

She is laid behind me on my new leather sofa and when i just turned around she gave me that butter wouldnt melt look ?? Know what i mean... she is thinking to herself... wish mum would get of that PC and get dressed so we can go walk!!!!

Best be off... lots of greenhouse building to do today!!

update on our garden!!!

well we started to build the greenhouse after i picked all the right bits for the first section... its an 8 foot greenhouse and is made in 2 4 foot ones put together , the weather man said it was going to cheer up this afternoon?? he lied! it was absolutely freezing and really windy and i heated sausage rolls and made us a hot drink ,(for outside), we had that ,(couldnt feel our fingers by this time!)...... started again and it started raining ... so we had to make a quick dash with all the tools that we didnt want to get wet but we had finished the back of the first 4 footer!

I have walked Jet her second walk and now i am really shattered but so glad to be indoors out of the cold..

I think pretty soon i will get my waxes out i need to vacuum upstairs first while me hotplate warms up!

Will keep you posted on the garden antics as and when!

Jen we have had a horrible day too, its been really cold damp and down right depressing :( I am still waiting for a sunny day to get my seeds going, by this rate I wont get them done in time.

My wrists and hands have been playing up too, and I am sure it is down to the cold damp weather..

Apparantly it is going to be nice all next week, funny but they said that last week too :blink:

Best thing you can do Jen is get that hotplate plugged in :thumbup;

Well yesterday the weather was glorious so we ploughed on withthe g/house build!!

We were at it all day and by tea time we had built both sections an d had it weighted down so the wind didnt take it away in the night!!!

Today weather is not so good and we are trying to do the doors in the house ... nothing is going right, get one bit in and another pops out ... glad its not glass now!!! m hopefully it will be completed today!! ... my little plants are growing too big and need to be in their new house!! :r :r :r :r

Aw Sally how nice of DH .... how big is it??

Bet yours goes up quicker than mine!

We were freezing out there again today, had loads of problems puting things together.... i gave in about 4.30 and came in to cook dinner and DH stayed out there to do as much as he could until 5>30... we were both absolutely perished and Jet didnt get her usual second walk ... she got a pigs ear instead , which she loves !!

We have half the roof on and doors waiting to go on and a couple of windows in ... i dont remember our last one being as difficult as this... hopefully this will be the last time i shall have to say this ... it should be completed tomorrow... we have to wait in for my desk thats coming from recycle shop, i shall have more work space and i will have to rearrange my studio once more to accommodate it!

Once I get the first lot of seedlings outside i can plant some more!!

My red onions are sprouting outside but i seem to have lost the rhubarb!

M<y broadbeans are huge in little white cups and need to be outside..

Oh well another day tomorrow!!

Jen my plastic greenhouse is a 2 tier type, its not very tall but the 2 shelves are really deep so it should hold quite a bit :thumbup; and yes it did go up quicker than yours, approx 5 mins :lol:

Just got to get all my seeds in there now, hubby is going out in the garden again today to get a bit more done, its starting to look nice again, doesnt take much really, a good mow and weed makes the world of difference :thumbup;

I hope that you finally get your greenhouse finishd today Jen, at least once its up that will be it :thumbup; just hope your wind doesnt get too mad, mine is quite light so hubby is making a small frame today to stand it in and make it a bit more sturdy.

All the flowers in my garden are coming through, the Delphiniums are growing soo fast, and my big tub of herbs is still going from last year, we have lots of curly leaved parsley, and new shoots are coming up everywhere in the borders :thumbup;

Roll on summer, when I can get the paddling pool out for Jack and the doggies and sit back and enjoy my colourful garden :D

I even get Jack a mini Gardening set for his Easter gift (I dont like buying choccy eggs) :groan
