Hi all - just been looking at all your lovely gardens.....how do you all ever get time to do all this AND paint/wax :blink: :blink:

Anyway - here's a bit of my back garden.....you can just see the little waterfall top left of pond......

The patch on right is covered in strawberry plants now.

Nearer the house, we've got a "patio" with table chairs and the obligatory brolly. And that's where I'm putting all my tubs to grow patio veg and herbs....

At the end of the garden is a HUGE conifer - it's taller than the size of a 4-storey block of flats (I know that cos there is a 4-story block of flats behind it....) but it is beautiful......

And the roses round the arch are a deep cerise colour - millions of them....

Can't do the garden myself now - so most of you know of Kev the gardener (blooming godsend I can tell you)...so I just do the supervisory bit..... :thumbup; :thumbup;

Hi Sally, Jen and Elsie :ta: and :lol: :lol: Jen - it's really funny - when I was married, him and his wife Sue were our neighbours...then we moved away and lost touch.

I put an ad in Tesco for help in the garden and he answered it - this is 17 years on by now - and I didn't recognise his voice.....it was so funny when he came over to see the garden...and we realised who we were - so now him and Sue (and they now have two lovely kiddies)and I are friends again....

He actually isn't a gardener as such - but works shifts - so on his days off, he gets bored and does odd gardening/handyman jobs....

Me? I'm young, free and single now - with one of the words crossed out :lol: :lol: !!!! :blink: .....and I'm not free, I have very expensive tastes (believe that and you'll believe anything) and I'm not single, cos I like being on my own......so that puts the mockers on that one :thumbup; :thumbup;

But everyone should have a Kev!!!!!!!!

Er - and the garden's full of forget me nots now - so not so tidy - but I do love them and the whole garden is designed for wildlife anyway...... :thumbup; :thumbup; :thumbup;

Love x :wave: yep - if you all lived closer you could come over and we could all watch Kev hard at work........ ;)

Hi all.... :thumbup;

I never paint outside Poppy - hayfever, flying thingys - all very nice - but not when they land on your hand when painting a straight line :blink: , too hot, too chilly, too windy, changing light, not to mention Willow wanting to jump up and sit on the paper or drink all the water..... :knit:

And I have to say - when I'm out there - there's so much going on around the pond - I'm totally distracted......

Do you manage to paint outside???????

I potted up some lobelia (cascade) parsley and salad bowl lettuce...can't wait for all the seeds to pop up...... :razz: :razz:

We're due a bit of rain this week - so that'll be good for them all......

Whenever i get the chance i love to paint outside Terry. I find when the buddliea and clematis are out that gives me so much inspiration. My neighbour asked me why i wasn't out painting her apple blossom( mine fell down last year sadly) and i had to admit there wasn't the shading or inspiration yet of the shrubs etc to paint? I like to be secretly situated, but obviously not as she has sen me painting the last couple of summers?

Besides i have to get a new table to hold my paints? I gave Jakes yellow plastic one to the baby toddler next door who is an absolute joy to watch in his garden through the shrub groweth? :thumbup;
BUT if i had a pond in my garden i couln't sit and paint or relax at all in it? :groan :o

I did some waxing last year in the garden, got the extension cable out and waxed on the patio table, it was lovely :D but a lot of hassle getting all set up :rolleyes:

Hi Poppy and Sally.....that's the thing - it really is so distracting in my garden.....in a nice way.....the burgundy damselfly that sits on my hand, found a boyfriend yesterday and as they - er, danced? - they formed a perfect upside down heart shape.....it was really lovely (not that I was watching :blink: )

And I've got my art desk upstairs in my bedroom - so to lug that lot down, sit down and find it starts raining (catches you unawares here in Devon) just isn't worth the effort......
