Last night we4 let Jet out for her final visit before bedtime and she wouldnt stop barking and WOULD NOT come in , the monkey ... so I came downstairs to check what the fuss was all about and looked out to the back garden and there was a huge hedgehog about half a metre from Jets gate in her pen... she had never seen one before so was guarding us from it!!! Next door neighbour was not amused and yelled to us to shut the dog up .... I went out to try and apologise and explain but she shot indoors... mind you it was about 11!! I wonder if she would complain if my guarder stops someone from burgling her house!

Sorry no pic of him camera was in wrong area and without batteries, murphy`s law eh?? :r :r :r

Jen how sweet of Jet to be protecting you like that and what a miserable neighbour :(

Pity you couldnt get a :cam:

I havnt seen a 'real' hedgehog for a long time, I have always had a soft spot for them, ever since nursery school when I spotted one out of the classroom window, and decided to pop it in my bag and run home  Mum pointed out all the fleas on it and we released it back into the school gardens....

There seems to have been something of a population explosion around here :thumbup; We've seen more hedgehogs in the last few years than we had for ages before :)

Its the first I have ever seen in any of my gardens ... and i have had a few!!!

Jin ... What did Patch think to it then???

Jet went larey ... wouldnt stop barking!!! More because she`s a tart really as you know Jin , expect she wet herself too!!!

Sally... My next door neighbour is a mmmmmmm??? cant think of a nice way to put it really... she likes complaining obviously so i am writing her a nice little note in a minute which is going through her door ready for her to read after work tonight!!

I tried being nice and went out to apologise and explain byt she shot in the house! I dont think it was too tragic , Jet only barked for 3/4 mins! before we went around and got her in with the lead!!

Watch this space , she comes from a country thats always at war! :r :r

I am not racially predudiced either!

OMG! I hope the neighbours calm down jen, it's not very nice when they go off on one, is it?
Tell her the dog had incercepted an intruder. That's what dogs do when they come across thongs they protect you from? Bark. :thumbup;
11pm is not that late? Hope you like your hedgiees jen. i haven't seen ours this year, we had 4 baby ones a couple of years ago, all resident under the workshop. Jake was thrilled.

Havent seen hedgy and just walked Jet around the garden ... glad we didnt encounter him again actually because of Jets behaviour!

DO NOT want a repeat performance tonight!!

Dogs are dogs Jen, your neighbour would be glad of jets protection should she have an intruder around?
Hope she is ok about it.

Last year my neighbours dog was shut out accidently and started barking, I went out to talk to him to stop him barking and another neighbour came over and started shouting and swearing at me, I explained nicely it wasn't my dog but they carried on  A week later the RSPCA were on my doorstep - I wonder who called them :lolol: It backfired on them though as the RSPCA left saying that my dogs are well looked after :r

Years ago a dog of mine saw his first hedgehog, got too close and ended up with a very sore nose :r :r :r

Sharon ,

Some neighbours can be soo unfriendly ... we moved here Oct31st and fireworks were being let off at random ... so my poor dogs barked through fear .... the authorities phoned me to say they had 4 complaints about our dogs barking ... we had only been here a few days!!! Talk about friendly neighbours /.... I wouldnt mind but there are quite a few barkers around here and other annoyances but we dont complain as we like to get on with the neighbours!! feel beeter now!! :r :r :r

Tell them it's not your dogs, but that's how you sound when you see the moon, then drool a bit and they should leave you alone. :D
