Probably not what we would call EA, think it is a layer of clear wax incorporated into the design.....but look at how much this art stuff sells for!!

Hi Sal :wave:

You must search for similar stuff to me, I came across these too and was thinking the same as you :blink:

I do like what he does, and he sells a few too :thumbup;

Maybe we should try a bit of mixed media ;)

Don't you think this is a case of pricing your art work highly? :thumbup; If you do that people think they are buying something rather special? It's all about creating a market for your art?
I love the blue textured set though? :thumbup;

:faint: Not my kind of thing, but :eek:

Poppy, I agree :thumbup; It seems that you need to price high to make a real impact, but then that makes it impossible for ordinary folk to own it :(

I am of the opinion that it's a bit obscene to charge exorbitant amounts for one's work. You just end up pricing yourself out of the market. These are very good contemporary paintings but to be honest, I don't think they are worth what he is asking. I think everyone should be able to afford to buy original works of art at reasonable prices, and that paid dividends when I had my solo exhibition earlier in the year. I pitched my work so that most people who wanted to buy could reasonably afford it, and I ended up selling more than anyone had done that year at that venue.

I'd be far more interested to know just how much this chap DOESN'T sell of this kind of thing compared to the amount that he has for sale!

Sally , I think it is so spooky that we have similar names are approx the same age , found EA about the same time, and experience similar stuff.....I would love to meet you!!

Maria- I agree with what you are saying about affordable art. "Ordinary" people should be able to afford it. That said - I was offered £ 20-30 for one of my pieces and I turned it down. To me - it was priceless.
I would rather promote EA and 'gift' my artwork. However it would be nice to make a few sales and cover the cost of materials. If I ever venture towards other media (acrylic) I would want to see ££££'s.

I'm probably not making sense but I see EA as special. Everyone is painting acrylics nowadays.

Ditto Sal :thumbup; We should have a real good chat, I bet we find lots of similarities :thumbup;

I agree with the pricing etc of work, I was offered a place on an online gallery, but most of the work they promote is way out of my league :faint, and they take 25% commission which is a lot but I was told to take this into consideration when pricing my work :faint:

I have put them off for now, and will stick to the odd sale here & there :thumbup; Its just nice to sell some now and then to cover restocking etc :thumbup;

Hubby say's I sell my stuff too cheap but the way I look at it as long as I make enough to buy more wax and canvas and the customer is happy-they may come back for more!!!!!!
