I wasnt sure weather to put this here or in the bead section, but I had a go at something quite different today, wire crochet! I got a book from the libary and had a bash at this wire wrist cuff, I am pleased with the way it came out although I found working with the wire very difficult, having to thread the beads on before crocheting it, I am hoping to make christmas gifts with both gold and silver colour wire and some gemstone chips and beads..... I am quite pleased with my first ever attempt!

Hi Catherine ![]() I like the bracelet, they will be great for gifts I had a thought a while back about knitting with wire? might just have a go now that you have done such a great job
I can imagine it being very fiddly with the beading though, might not have the patience for it What sort of wire did you use? For your first attempt you have done really well and I can see you are going to be producing some a great jewellery range for the future, you are such a dab hand at everything, and with so many things to choose from I would love to see your stall at Christmastime Sally

That's fabulous, I've seen that on a craft show but have never tried it. You did an amazing job as always!

its 28 gauge beading wire sally, its abit of a fiddle as it seems to unravel itself off the real! I had to keep it fairly short or it would kink! and you need to thread all the beads on first which again is a bit hit and miss! but I shall go to the craft shop and get some earring thingies and some more beads this week, the good thing is that the wire is soft and quite stretchy so I can make a couple of sizes to fit most hands, top tip with the wire is to do it on a warm day as the wire is more flexible!
thanks all, hubs says he dosnt like it, but both my sisters and my girls do! so what does he know eh????

Excellent, Catherine On the kinking problem with long lengths, if you work on a lap-board, you could cut a notch in the edge and let the wire feed through that so that it keeps it under light tension
