They're small but they're alive, they were so insect eaten I was worried that was the end for them.![]() ![]() My marigolds went a little insane they are huge! They were supposed to be dwarfs.

Wow Virginia your roses have done brilliant to pick up again like that, beautiful colours, do they have a scent? Your marigolds look fab, I dont usually like marigolds as they are usually spread out and you get the odd one or two in a border but yours growing like that look heavenly Sally |

I don't really like marigolds either but always planted them for Max, he always rolled in the darn things, I only planted them this year for him, silly I know but it made me feel better. They were supposed to be little 6" yellow ones but I had so many I was giving them away right left and center, they're by my barn in the front along the sides of the house, I'm not planting them next year! I have tonnes of other flowers in there but you can't see them. The one great thing about marigolds though is that the scent repels fleas and ticks and black flies. Doesn't do a darn thing about mosquitoes though. All those cats in our neighbourhood from the collector's house have fleas, almost every one's yards are full of them. between the marigolds and the geraniums though my yard seems to be doing ok. I'm spraying the yard as soon as it stops raining as well. I did snag a couple of the cats with treats and put that flea oil on them, something the owner should be doing but he won't. Poor things.

Your roses look so healthy. I must say they are a lot better than mine have been. I don't like marigolds either but they do make a lovely splash of vibrant colour. Annette x |

Virginia your flowers are beautiful and your roses look so much better. I had problems with my roses this year, first greenfly got to them and then all the rain we had really battered them around but they survived and are looking good now. Your garden looks lovely nice display of colours. Willowx |

Great Roses, They look so healthy Virginai, mine hav been a total wash out this year with all the rain, it washes all the nutients from the soil, i guess i will have to re plenish it again and plant banana skins into the soil! Marigolds do a great job of repelling greenfly also, my dad used to swaer by them around his roses, Poppy |
