I got my stamps out again and had a little play around making backgrounds, on the dark card I stamped the leaves and little flowers using bleach, let it dry and then stamped and embossed the flower with gold embossing powder, punched three flowers with flower punch and added the brads.

Went to 3 charity shops and found nothing! Very unusual for me!!

:ta: Thank you Sally, Steve and Jen. I have a link that tells you how to do the bleach technique, I just folded kitchen roll in to a small pad placed it on to a flat surface/plate and added a small amount of bleach not too much just enough to wet the pad then just stamped on to the pad and then on to the card, it works well with dark card but different coloured card give different results you just have to experiment. I have been trying different techniques for making background papers and have just finished making a polished stone effect which is really nice using surgical spirit will put some pics up.

The link for the bleach technique and many more, great site.

:ta: for the link, Eileen :thumbup;

A word of caution: it says on that page about heating the bleach to dry it faster. That could prove very hazardous as it could emit chlorine gas! :eek: If you are going to heat it, do it outside or on a low heat only! And don'tr get close while you're doing it! You could suffer respiratory distress, damage to your eyes, and more! :o :faint:

Thanks for pointing out the hazard warning Steve. :thumbup; What I usually do is make a batch of papers and let them all AIR DRY and just save them for when I need them for my cards or mixed media work that I may be doing they don't take very long to dry and it's always best to play safe. :D

What a gorgeous card and an interesting technique too!

Thanks for the warning Steve, bleach makes me very headachey. the only stuff I use it for is Trev's socks, and even that doesn't work half the time. :P

Willow i hadn't realised it was bleached, i have heard of doing that but never tried it? Does it make yiur cards go funny after a while, or the stamps go brittle? That's why i didn't use the technique?
I know you can wash thenm off, but stamping with even the alcohol inks makes he rubber go funny after a while?
Great card though. :thumbup;

Poppy as far as I know it will not harm the stamps just give them a good wash afterwards and it won't affect the card just leaves nice bleached patterns which can look very effective. :wave:
