OK.....thought I'd run this by people to see if anyone was interested. For years now I've been making handmade truffles to give to my friends and family at xmas and the list of people now wanting them has got ever longer! Anyway, someone reckoned that they were so scrumptious that I should start taking orders, so I'm sounding out the idea on here. I intend to make boxes of about 12-14 truffles (depending on how many different types I make) which will sell at £8.00 per box, plus postage. Boxes are gold balantin style with a gold elasticated bow to decorate them. They come with a detailed list of ingredients. I know £8.00 sounds a lot, but this is probably what you would pay for such a box at Thorntons. My truffles are very similar to theirs and are made with good quality chocolate. The list of varieties are as follows: Rum Truffle Dark chocolate cream truffle, laced with rum and dipped in milk chocolate Coffee Walnut Truffle Dark chocolate cream truffle, with coffee liqueur, dipped in white chocolate and topped with a hlaved walnut. White Chocolate Truffle A very light truffle made from white chocolate and cream, with a hint of Cointreau, dipped in white chocolate. Lemon Truffle A white chocolate truffle made with cream infused with lemon, dipped in white chocolate with a sprinkling of lemon sugar.....These are to die for! Mexican Truffle Something for the more adventurous chocolate lover! A dark truffle with a hint of chilli that gives a subtle surprise and which brings out the dark chocolate flavour. This one is coated in fine cocoa powder. Orange Truffle A dark chocolate truffle made with orange infused cream and laced with Cointreau. This one is dipped in milk chocolate with a crystalised orange segment on top. Hazelnut Truffle The chocolate hazelnut filling of these truffles is laced with Jamaican rum and then coated in Swiss milk chocolate. Simply mouthwatering! That's the list so far! As I said, I only use good quality chocolate and wherever possible (apart from those that have nuts in the recipe) they are suitable for nut-allergy sufferers. I can also do non-alcoholic ones for those who don't partake. I can give next-day delivery service but not overseas, as it would take too long to send them. So if you'd like to give your loved ones something a bit different, or would just like to try some yourselves please pm me to place an order. Please allow plenty of time too, as they are time-consuming to make. I won't send them out till the date required, but they do keep in a fridge for about 2 weeks, so you could order them in plenty of time for xmas. So there you are! Something a bit different for xmas this year! Thanks! Maria x |

I'm going to try and take some pics of the chocs, but my camera isn't that great so they may not look very sharp. I must say though that everyone who has tried my truffles all want more and people keep asking whether I am making them again each year. If you want a box, let me know, or they'll all go! Maria x |
