Hi all Just an after thought. The full selling price for the cd is £14.99. In my mind this is a rip off price. They should sell it for 5.99. Hugs to all Sonia |

for the update Sonia
I must admit that I'm astonished that there are so few designs for each item Considering that the normal price is £14.99, I'd be very unhappy to get so little
And the colourways range is very limited
The verse editor is a good feature, but I can't say that I'm attracted by any other aspect And of course, a good graphics program will allow verses to be written for printing onto anything, and manipulated as effectively
£5.99 is probably a fair price but the normal £14.99 sounds exorbitant now Steve |

Hi all More of the cd saga,i have just sent the following email to crafters companion. Hi,I purchased this cd rom after receiving a email regarding a free sample but which you had no more stock off. I have noticed that on the back of the case it states SAMPLE,I was led to believe that this cd rom was the £14.99 range as stated in the email and not a sample. I thought that there was not any more samples available as also stated in the email. I cannot understand why i have had to pay for a sample when i thought i was getting a full range cd rom and they are normally free.could you please contact me on this matter. Kind regards Sonia Lets hope i get a reply(am not feeling very hopeful)i am now composing my next email Hugs to all Sonia |

Hi again Here is the reply Hi Sonia Thank you for your email. The CD which you purchased is in fact the full CD, not a sample CD, there is a typing error on the back cover. Please accept my apologies for any confusion which has caused. Kindest Regards Ellie I'm thinking hmmmm that's the full cd!!!no way is that worth £14.99. hugs Sonia

Now that's a very strange "typing error"
What could they have been typing that could possibly be spelt "sample" by mistake? Sounds like a fudged excuse to me
Funnily enough, they were advertising on Create & Craft last night - and the CD there was £19.99 From what I could see of the contents list, there really wasn't much on it for that price

I honestly think they are fudging an excuse as Steve says? They are selling the samples ? I would love to know HOW MANY actually got a free sample??? I am willing to bet NO-ONE did? In Computer Active ( magazine) they have a letters page where they deal with anything you have bought on the internet and feel you are not happy with the service given? I wonder what they'd make of this saga Sonia? You can email Computer Active with this question if you wanted to know if this was a genuine offer and also typing error or not. They would get to the bottom of it for you? Hugs Poppy |

Poppy, I've now heard of a huge number of recipients - 1
There have. on the other hand, been dozens I know of who only got the email
One person other than our Sonia bought a CD which was, apparently, a genuine release from the ones offered at £4.99
The same evaluation resulted - not much for £4.99, and certainly not enough for £14.99
This whole affair hasn't actually done them any favours, as far as I can tell As a marketing exercise, I think it's safe to say that it's backfired significantly The one redeeming feature was that a fair degree of personal contact was made in some cases, but that's really not enough to offset the overall bad impression created

Hi all I was just wondering what you all think,do i reply to the email that they sent and mention about contacting a computer mag to see what they make of this "free sample" thing,i'm not sure if i want to stir up a hornets nest and get myself into something i can't get out of. :o(i'm not very good with battles) Hugs Sonia

In all honesty, Sonia, I'd not bother
I've seen the contents of the free CD and while it has some redeeming features, you probably still got more by buying the substitute
And you haven't missed out on anything, believe me
I'm coming to the conclusion that the whole thing reflects bad planning more than anything else From what I've heard, it's not the first time, and somehow, I doubt it will prove to be the last A simple statement of exactly how many free copies were available would have mitigated the disaster somewhat
I doubt that any firm conclusion could be reached, in which case Computer Active would be unlikely to go very far with it Steve |

Staing how many free copies would have ben better Steve, you are right. At least then we could accept we may not get a copy? Personally if i had been in Sonia's shoes, i would write to Computer Active , they seem to get to the bottom of things and say when something is plain wrong and also say if we, the consumer, expected far too much from what we percieve to be wrong about a situation. Or even if we are plain in the wrong? Hugs Poppy |

If the offer had been made in a magazine, I would certainly be inclined to contact them
