these worked up very quickly from my large stash of yarn...

this one is made from beautiful soft wool and mohair yarn that I brought from ebay....500g for 60p YES 60p!!!! its 2 ply so I held tow strands together, the pattern is the Knot ugly shrug from the Happy Hooker book

and this one is a fantastic pattern that starts at the arm and goes across the back and down the other arm, the collar and skirt piece is done in rounds....but sadly its too small for me so eldest daughter has bagged it

I shall be making another one of these with more rows across the back and a larger hook

here is the pattern...

:thumbup; Fabulous Catherine, I love the second one. I looked at the pattern and was terrified! It said the chain should fit round the forearm and work from there! I need exact things!

its actually really easy, basicaly you start at the arm ( make a tube) it opens out and you work across the back and then you close it ( the other tube) and thats the other arm. you make the cuffs and the collar skirt piece separate in rounds. I am now working on one in dk yarn with a 7mm hook using the instructions, it seems to be more my size 12-14 were as if you follow the instructions and use dk yarn with a 5mm hook its a small size 8-10.

:r I wish I needed the 8 -10! What would I need for 14-16? I'd love to have a go though.
I really should make cards for a charity and a church sale first, then for us for Christmas and I'm doing Goldwork at sewing class and making a Quilt! I thought I'd have lots of time in my retirement but I'm busier than ever! :r
