I have some wonderful news for all encaustic artists! Encaustic Now! is a new online gallery, which is part of the Redbubble website. It is open to encaustic artists of all abilities to join and display artwork. It is NOT juried, so ALL art will be considered for display, as long as it fits the encaustic criteria! Redbubble itself is a great site with many different groups which covers all the arts and also has a fascility for artists to sell prints in various guises which could benefit artists that wish to join! Encaustic Now! is the only group on the site that caters for encausticians though! We are already open to take new members, though our official opening date is Tuesday 26th May. After that date there will be all sorts of wonderful things to come, such as gallery challenges and also a lively forum where people can exchange hints and general chit-chat. So if you would like to join our happy band of waxers, just click on the link below, register with Redbubble, then join Encaustic Now! Look forward to seeing as many new faces as possible! Nice to see you there (and everyone else who has already joined). As you see from the note on the overview page, we have had a couple of technical problems, due to RB launching us today without warning (we've been waiting to hear for about 3 weeks now) so we aren't really ready with all the forums etc, but at least everyone can upload their work. We aim to try and create a really good vibe, which I think will be good for our creativity! From next Tuesday, all the technical stuff should be in place (Colin is doing that side of things) so everything will get going properly. Maria x |

There's just one little point Maria, I haven't put my name and address on there as I don't sell my art, is it a site mainly for people to sell? Eileenx |

Eileen....you don't have to put your work up for sale. They only sell prints, not the originals, anyway. What happens is that if you do wish to sell your work, RB send you payment once a month via paypal. There is no contact with the person who buys it. RB does it all for you. That is why they take a commission. When you upload your work, you have an option to say that it isn't for sale. You can alter that at any time though. If you just want to use RB to display your work, that is perfectly OK. Hope that helps. Maria x |
