All fixed, super stuff.

Hold off with the lurkers. I'll have a chunky confesh before the night is out, but it's gonna have some heavy ID stuff in it. I'll start a separate thread to work from and just c/p some select bits for them in there.

I do love pandering to a crowd.

Did you flip your coin and decide against that update after all?

why are you sad that I am not in the game :frown we get along so well.

I'm sure we would dominate, but with you all the way over there, it's one less challenge whore to compete against here in-game. And tactically here, placing high in challenges are gonna be key for me. Which segues nicely into a not-quite-as-chunky-as-promised update;

Colosseum Format? Brilliant! I've been meaning to try this out for a while. I love that it was a surprise too. Not just in a ooh, aren't I pleasantly surprised? way, but tactically too. No-one came into here game expecting it. No-one here is some grizzly Colo pro. These three days buys me time not just to work up some social ties, but to wrap my head right around the format too, and I got a few ideas already.

Most obvious is that this is a game for lots of little deals. Two's and threes all over the shop is the best approach here. Keep my name well off the bottom in most people's minds, and right up top in a select few's thoughts. This way no matter who is voting, each will be looking out to keep me alive, one way or another.

Additional to this - and not necessarily what I want to happen, but I don't think I can stop it - some of these little two and threes will come together into something bigger, maybe a six or sevensome. I don't like that because there is too many people chasing their own ends, and it takes a little control away from me. Plus it's boring :/ But it oughtta keep me safe for a few rounds tween now and F10.

But to keep an eye on these little side-quests, I need to establish myself as a challenge threat. I don't care if that makes me a target. Lightning rod is my favourite style to play. All my favourite games have been where I make myself a big-ass target, allies & underlings are usually happy to keep me around as a person more likely to be targeted by the opposition before they are and invariably I get booted late jury stage.

This time round though, I add challenge skills to my repertoire. I need to pull it out in that area of the game hardcore.

Oh... an update. Merely 20 hours after I expected it.

How much exposure do you have to this format anyway? Was I the only one that knew for almost a year that he was interested in the idea of playing or running a game with just this format? Pity.

Easy tiger. I was up till half five last night PMing (after an epic game of Risk I might add) and building social ties is priority #1 here. This will not be a Star Wars redux.

My experience with the format is limited to that game only. I know there will likely be a few players in here who played in LotR and Vertigo recently. I lurked decently dedicated enough in both so I've seen a few of the approaches. In Star Wars, i attempted a bit of a non-threat approach since I'd already let myself slip out of the social loop, and while it did work to an extent - I never had to vote and never received one either - here I want to take a far more hands-on approach.

Besides, that's just a shortie update. There's more to come re: schtick and the cast if I can get to the bottom of this PM pile anytime soon.

Part II: Schtick

Just realised unless Brucie here was forwarding my application PMs over on ORGY, that the Decisions Decisions thread doesn't really stand alone too well. So here's the sitch; Sometimes my game is up to about 70% schtick. Keeping with the Star Wars references I made some moves and decisions in-game that went totally against what was best for me tactically - purely because it's what Obi-Wan would do in the same situation. Voting against the Sith and my best chance of getting to merge? alol. i'd do it again in a heartbeat though.

The way I look at it, these games only have one winner, so if everyone is playing to win and that is where they find their fun, only one person comes out of it at the end with any fun had. Meanwhile, I'm already having fun in Round zero :joker

Thing number two, if you can get yourself into a role you can truly get behind, you will have more fun again. And for me, Two-Face is *the* quintessential Batman villain. Sure he's not the most iconic (Joker), or the biggest threat (Rā's al Ghūl), or even the fanboy fave (Harley), but he is the deepest.

He starts off with the usual gimmick that most of us have (Ivy/Croc/Riddler etc.) - doing everything in twos  (sidenote: I watched Batman Forever today "robbing Gotham's Second National Bank at two am on the Second anniversary of his capture? How did we not see this coming??" ). But unlike the others, Two-Face has truly developed over the years. The Long Hallowe'en is probs my favourite story arc. In that you get more of a taste of the real Two-Face - the whole morality issue and the reflection of Batman's vigilantism fascinate me.

So how does that I try translate that to an ORG character, and specifically me as an ORG character? Well for starters I ain't going down the tried and tested schizophrenia route. Two clashing fonts & colours and it's easily done. I've done that recently and while it's fun, it's too cornball here. Two-face doesn't have a clear cut divide like that. He was already part villain long before the scarring. He struggles with his divide. He crosses over back and forth. His only real constant is the coin.

So to put that into ORGing terms, I'm gonna try combine the best parts of my games into one. I'm gonna play the smooth DA card where required. Harvey Dent, trustworthy & heroic. But I can have fun with my evil side too. My Two-Face side. Best case scenario the political nuances get me into some sort of swing position and I can wager it all on the flip of a random.org coin.

I do want to make sure I'm not limiting myself too much here (again), but the beauty of it is, I get to ask the questions. I get to decide what exactly is up to fate and what I decide for myself. I don't know just how hard I'm gonna stick by it. Most likely I'll tweak it a little as the game goes on and I get more invested. Already I'm finding it hard to go by the "trash these three dictum". Scarecrow is a no-show so he's easy. Croc is a moron so he's easy. Prometheus however is likeable and savvy. idk if I won't end up aligned with him. For now I'll at least trash talk him for his lack of notoriety.

Playing up to the goodness or evilness of any particular character is one of my favourite things in an ORG. Hopefully here I can combine the two to make a wining combination.

idk who you are so I don't really know for sure :P Seeing you actually post in a confessional puts my IANCD theory out the window.

Unless it really is you and his is all a clever ruse :riddler

Game-wise I've decided to make a push to see if I can't land number one in this survey task. I reckon I will land top fivish in most people's surveys anyway. if I can translate that into a number one in a few cases it should off-set the players who will now put me last just for asking to be first :D Stoopid villainous impulses

If my theory is right and the top spot translates to being Arch-Villain, well who better to break ties than someone who is willing to flip a coin for a man's fate?

That was epic, Harvey. You told me pre-game the things you were planning on doing with the character, but this was more in depth. Brilliant! I agree that Two-Face is the most compelling villain of the bunch and I don't think I could have gotten someone better for the role. Trying to make the best out of your two sides. :<3 Epic and hopefully a winning combination. :twoface

Well now, if Ivy hasn't sent me the chunkiest message of the game. And here was me thinking I could resist her allure. So that puts her and Harley both in my top-tier - I am such a sucker for a female rep.

How was the campaign?  Was anybody else campaigning as well?

Joker

I can put you at #1. Why the hell not?

Ivy

If you're campaigning, I'll give you my vote. But this election comes at a price. Mr. Dent.

Black mask

Ok so we will put each other in top 7 then 2 face, I believe in this! I believe in Harvey Dent! Mirror image pic or no!

Prometheus

I believe you and I both will be in the top portion of that survey. Surely these people know greatness when they see it.

Harleen

You were already my number two.
(behind Joker, of course)

Zsasz

You will be ranked highly on Zsasz's list indeed, do not worry about that.

Scarecrow

a wise man once said "The world is cruel. And the only morality in a cruel world is chance. Unbiased. Unprejudiced. Fair." Accept my offer Harvey, and you have my undying loyalty

Although in fairness, he's prolly one of the three you're waiting on.

Cats

I did mine last night though. :(

Croc

I already turned in my list but I did rank you somewhere in the half, most of it was random though so don't read too much into it.

Riddler

I thought you were afraid of being the number one on the list.
:riddler

Rā's al Ghūl

I mentioned to a couple of other villains that I planned to vote you for the top spot in case they needed an additional nudge to do the same.
(What is with that weird space at the start of each paragraph?)

So who's missing here.. Penguin, Bane & Freeze.
