It's been quiet here, for a while. Truth is, crypto is one of those subjects that doesn't lend itself to constant conversation. If I were to report every time I have discovered something new, it'd be months between such reports. (And then, it'd be almost uniformly my discovery something that has been long known to many others.) But today I do have something to contribute. It seems that the four volumes of William Friedman's "Military Cryptanalysis" are available on the NSA's website. These have been available in print through Aegean Park Press: C-30, C-40, C-60, and C-61. They are also on Dr. Dobbs Journal Essential Books on CD-ROM: Cryptography and Security. But this is the first time I've seen them available for free.
