Another Challenge: --- Ha bGvpRRJIb vshbpiaBwxGrpf x HAsIpiXRxgGszxBiyS vHhaXFxsFXHafXxvsIoPjybIw sTTpyhAXR --- This one is still very solvable, but a lot more tricky. All is not as it seems, and there may be more than meets the eye. A clue for those who would like one: clue begin: You might be best off to simply ignore the word spacing to begin with. clue end: |

Ok, so, how about another hint.
Clue Begin: (highlight to read) Ignore capitalization as well. Just treat it as a mono alphabetic substitution without word separations. That will help you uncover part of the secret. Clue End: AND, a further hint for those who wish it, an actual CRIB. This is a word that DOES exist somewhere in the message: Crib Begin: (highlight to read) THREE Crib End: |

here you go (solution one) ******************** SPOILER: THIS COMMUNICATION HIDES MORE THAN ONE MESSAGE IN FACT THERE ARE THREE CAN YOU FIND ALL OF THEM I didn't look at your next hints, but I found this by using the double e's and the T. I always look at letter frequencies. I wonder where the next two are hidden! I haven't got time to check, but I think the upper case letters form a scentence, and the lower case letters form one too. END SPOILER ******************** For people who can't figure it out, look at this diagram (not a spoiler): |

Well, since no one seems to have gotten any further on this, I'm going to post another hint. And it's been so long that I don't think I need to white it out this time.
Revelation has already solved the first part. You simply ignore the capitalization and spacing and solve it as an ordinary monoalphabetic substitution. BUT, there are two more hidden messages in the same text. In order to decrypt the first message, you had to ignore capitalization and spacing, so it's a good guess that those two elements hide the other messages. Attack spacing first, it's the simplest, but neither is actually difficult. Solving either one of the messages will give you a clue to the next.

Possible spoiler: *********** I haven't got the time now to test it, but I think the capitalized letters and the non-capitalized are two (or one) solutions. *********** |

Sorry, Donald - I must admit I didn't pay much attention to this one at first. My apologies. The first message is pretty plain - as you say, it's a straight mono. The second message was more interesting, in that it was - how can I say this? Um, suffice to say that you either get it or you don't! (You will understand the subtext in that last sentence, I think.) The third message seems to be eluding me. |

Yow, that was an interesting one! I felt so dense for so long. Then when I got the really short one, I figured out what the last one was pretty quickly, since it pretty much told me what to do. |

Well, I got the short one okay, as you did - but it didn't help me get the third message at all! I tried the obvious, but couldn't see anything emerging quickly. |

This should be sufficiently vague, but I'll put it in white anyway: *** MILD SPOILER *** Are you counting from 0? *** END SPOILER *** |

Congratulations! You are the first to get all 3 levels. I must admit, I kinda liked this one.
Yep. Which ever one you get first gives you a clue to the other one. Revelation: Yes, keep playing along those lines!
No apology needed! No one is obligated to attempt a challenge! I still haven't dug into your CBC yet! (I've been busy writing my over zealous program for the two time pad) I didn't mean to be whining when I mentioned this challenge, I was just trying to make a point to cows that getting people to BREAK your ciphers is GOOD!
You are on the right track. Here is a VERY general hint, but like rot13, I'll white it out anyway: It might help if I clarify that the third message only contains the letters A to Z. You are probably looking for a larger character set. And thanks folks for spending time on my puzzle. Donald |

If the hint means what I think it means, I already tried that. In fact, it was the first thing I tried. Strange. Oh well - perhaps I'm just daft. That would certainly explain it. |
