Hi I've been reading your forum and I'm loving it so far. I've been into cryptography for quite a while, I've read a couple of books which my brother lent me, all on older hand written ciphers. I have no mathematical talent or programming skills, and ciphers can very quickly go over my head. So I won't be cracking any of your ciphers unless you toss a few 'easy' ones my way in which case I'll get my pencil and pad out :) I have written what I like to believe is a fairly good cipher, of course having written it I have no idea how I would go about attacking it. If you guys are interested in looking at how it works that would be great and if it passes this first test I'll post it in the challenges area.

There aren't a lot of folks reading this forum, and of those that do most don't stop by very often. So traffic can be light.

And we need all the new blood we can get ;)

As for your "fairly good cipher", we've all of us done that, and we've all of us discovered that they weren't as strong as we had thought. But we're always interested in seeing if someone has come up with a new approach. So, let us see it, please...

One of the most singular characteristics of the art of deciphering is the strong conviction possessed by every person, even moderately acquainted with it, that he is able to construct a cipher which nobody else can decipher. I have also observed that the cleverer the person, the more intimate is his conviction. In my earliest study of the subject I shared in this belief, and maintained it for many years.
