A few years ago I released a program called CryptoCrack to solve ciphers and, since then, I've received a number of requests for a program to create ciphers. I've now developed a program to create most of the cipher types found in CryptoCrack plus a few more. The program is called CryptoMake and it can create ciphers in 60 different cipher types including: ADFGVX, ADFGX, Affine, Amsco, Aristocrat (Simple substitution with word divisions), Atbash, Autokey, Bazeries, Beaufort, Bifid, Cadenus, Caesar, Checkerboard, Complete Columnar, Conjugated Matrix Bifid (CM Bifid), Digrafid, Double Transposition, Four Square, Fractionated Morse, Grille, Gromark, Gronsfeld, Hill, Homophonic, Incomplete Columnar, Interrupted Key, Keyphrase, Monome Dinome, Morbit, Myszkowski, Nicodemus, Nihilist Substitution, Nihilist Transposition, Patristocrat (Simple substitution without word divisions), Periodic Gromark, Phillips, Playfair, Pollux, Porta, Portax, Progressive Key, Quagmire, Ragbaby, Railfence, Redefence, Route Transposition, Running Key, Seriated Playfair, Slidefair, Straddling Checkerboard, Swagman, Tridigital, Trifid, Tri-Square, Two Square, Variant and Vigenere. CryptoMake is free and can be downloaded from the CryptoMake website at https://sites.google.com/site/cryptomake/. The site includes screenshots, setup instructions and a getting started guide. The program is only available to run on Windows though it may also run on a MAC with Parallels Desktop and on Linux with WINE but these haven't been confirmed. The program requires the use of the Microsoft C++ runtime libraries so if you don't already have these installed they may need to be downloaded from the Microsoft site. A link is provided on the site for this. Feel free to give it a try and I would welcome any feedback which can be sent to me via the Contact Me page on the website or this site. If you encounter any problems please let me know. Regards Phil Pilcrow |

These look a useful set of programs, so thank you My only reservation is that they need to be downloaded and run in Windows, especially as I am a Mac user. Personally I would have preferred them in Javascript so that they can be run in my browser. This alternative is possible at : https://encode-decode.appspot.com/ |
