ALL MEMBERS PLEASE POST!! This is the topic that will help the entire club greatly!! If theres something on your mind nows the time to tell! THis topic will only be open for 10 days! Once the time period is over it will be closed and steve will look over all your posts! PLEASE DO NOT GO OFF TOPIC ON HERE!!! ONLY POST USING THE TEMPLATE PROVIDED BELOW!!! You can post an extra "Organization Disscussion" thread if you want to talk about the current posts!Heres the template (im gonna use my post as an example too!) Name: Justin Nichols Bike: 98 Katana 750 City: Cumberland Likes: There is a friendly atmosphere each time we ride! There is no "outsiders" in the club. Even with new members! We seem to look out for each other too! NOT TO MENTION HANGING WITH YOU GUYS IS AWESOME!!!!! Dislikes: lol Not real organized (but that will change ) Not very.....minor friendly! lol
(note: i dont really care though) not alot of new members latelyComments/Suggestions: "Have postions on the message board and forum for example Forum Admin, Club Mechanic (for advice/help needs), vendor, etc.. and there could be more than one person at each position" Need to focus a lil more on getting new members over the winter. Also have events over the winter...even if they are not bike oriented (Super Bowl Party...etc.)Lastly, better place for meetings  Ideas?/Other: MOTO GP PARTY FOR SURE!!!!! TOURIST TROPHY TORDAMENT!!!!(I know how we can run it too! ) End of the season party...begining of the season pary! Since its the Cumberland "Motorcycle" Club....Dirtbikes should be allowed! It would increase interest, more member variety, plus...heh we could get someone to race too! not to mention its better than having a Harley rider in the club! <_< _____________________________________________________________________ If you would like to add something to what you posted just edit your post! So long its in the time limit! Time left: 1 day |

Brian Faulk 02 GSXR 600 y/b Keyser WV Likes: I have had a blast on the few rides i actually got to go on with you guys this year and i am proud to be a part of the club... I love the forum and the membership benifits. I also like meeting new friends, that are into sportbikes. Dislikes: Not to many so far, the only thing that i can say that has been not so good is that when a ride is planned for say 12:00, it seems that alot of people are always late and it never gets going until 1 or 1:30, but the last trip to the big 33 went pretty good so even that is improving... Comments: Um, i have had a few potential members say that they would join but the dues are to high, now i know that it costs to get this thing going and i am ok with the $40 bucks but some people are cheap. But this is just an observation as to some of the input i have gotten from other riders in our area. The benifits will soon way outweigh the cost of membership so don't sweat it, cause when we are sittin pretty in a magazine spread or doing trackdays for a fraction of the cost all those whiners will be wishin the would have gave up the $40  Also, once we get the meeting thing straightened out i have some potential members that want to join but i would like to bring them when i know we got it together so when they pay their dues they feel damn good about it........ I know there are some issues relating to the meeting place but i don't think we have alot of options in regard to this. I mean where else are we going to meet that we can all sit down and talk, and be welcomed, NOT A CHURCH, NOT A SCHOOL, maybe someones house or garage, but then what about refreshments and seating, maybe a resteraunt, but then we end up having to buy dinner and that could get expensive, so for me the bar is the best place i can think of, HEY WHAT ABOUT LEGS Na seriously though, the only real suggestion that i have is to CHANGE the MEETING TIME until a little later, like atleast 7:30 or even 8:00 cause i don't close my shop until 6:00 and usually don't even get out until 15 or 20 min later, then i have to go home change my clothes, find something to eat, try to round up the other members and then get down to c-land by 7:00, Not Happening. I also know that this is a problem for some of the other members and potential members from the Keyser area... justmy2 cents Last but not least: Hell yea on the winter events thing, tourist trophy is cool, i'm pretty good at it but i have to use the slower bikes , i cant seem to get nothing going on the faster ones, MY HOUSE IS OPEN TO THAT!!! I have a 42" plasma tv in my living room we can use, only thing is my house kinda small but we could manage. Also, a ski trip might be cool too, and i'm in for the last party just let me know when and where, but it needs to be soon if ya want it outside, if not we could just have it at LEGS lollollolSo there you have it, and i'm only kidding about the legs thing unless we could get JUSTIN A FAKE ID... HA HA have a great day!!!! |

Name: Justin Grove AKA"BENNY" Bike: 2003 Yamaha R1 City: Cumberland Likes: I like the fact everyone in the club is an equal, regardless of skill, age or size of your bike. Some guys i have rode with in the past make you feel like you have to break the law and try to keep up all the time when we ride. I truly feel like everyone in the club acts and feels like they have been friends for years, thats hard to come by. Dislikes: Fat chicks, warm beer, lights and sirens, and oil in the road damn that hurts..... Comments/Suggestions: Everything is going pretty good for just getting the club off the ground, the only comment i could make is that if anyone has a comment to bring it up cause any new ideas is what will keep this club alive for a long time. Ideas?/Other: I love the ideas for a motogp party, but if we are gonna do it we better do it soon, and the end of the season party rocks too, i got a hook up on alcohol so let me know what we need. _____________________________________________________________________ |

I like that even though there are way better riders than me in the group i never feel pressure to ride like a crazy man or get left behind. Dislikes: Cops, Hangovers, and the wife Gettin pissed at me for goin to a bike wash with strippers. Comments/Suggestions: I think the club is doing good. I would just like to see the meetings on any night but Monday or Thursday b/c I cant make it on those nights which sux |

Jason Thomas {AKA Sprocket} SUZUKI GSXR 600 Baltimore Pike Likes: Big boobs, Corona and superbikes. The club has been awsome! Its great to have good friends like you guys to ride with. The memories will last a life time. And theres so many more to come! Dislikes: Like just about everyone else here at CMC I agree we need to get it together when it comes to leave times. If the ride time is 11:00 pull at 11:15 at the latest. Post rides and times a few days before hand so everyone can plan accordingly and be there on time! Meetings, it would be a blast for more of us to get together more often. Im good any day of the week after 730. Comments/Suggestions: Anyone interstested in seeing any AMA rounds next year let us know! We can book rooms way before hand and plan the party! Ideas: Lets get the end of year party planned and cut loose! |

Mike Sites 2 Kawasakis 03 EX500 06 ZX-6R (636) McHenry, MD Likes: Just about every aspect of my encounters with the group has been a great help in helping me learn about this sport and its culture and has enabled me to guage my own practical limits of safety. Knock on wood, I'm still alive and I still haven't put either of my bikes down while far exceeding the performance goals I had initially set for myself for the summer. I had been seeking riding buddies for almost a year when I ran across Kelly and Doc at Sheetz that afternoon and I am grateful that fate steered you guys into my path. Almost everyone else new to the sport but not associated with this organization whom I met over the summer suffered nasty crashes (one guy miraculously escaped death or even serious injury- his bike was ripped to pieces). But I also realize many of you have been riding for years and this sort of thing is far from your mind. So I hope you are aware just how valuable your sharing spirit and welcoming attitudes are. So to someone like me, new to the sport, that is about the most valuable thing you could offer...club or no club, organized or not. That's the MAIN thing I hope continues to come from this group. THANKS GUYS! Dislikes: While I do feel there are things we can to to strengthen our club there is nothing that I could say I dislike about CMC. Comments/Suggestions: (1) Well, I pretty well covered my main concerns in the the other thread which seems to have prompted this whole deal. They are issues we simply need to check into to be sure nothing freaky and unexpected ever happenes that would disrupt the positive energy and forward thrust developed within this group thus far. A freaky accident, a lawsuit, or some legal technicality could get us all into a heap of trouble (and has happened to other similar organizations). I've personally been sued twice, once as being part of an organization and the other as holding a public office. I've also been called to testify as an expert witness on several lawsuits that centered around risk sports issues. The trick is to avoid certain actions that define things in ways we don't want them defined. Signing a waiver doesn't protect you from shit....and by the way...I don't think I ever signed one. (2) Another thing which concerns me is that we need to be sure we don't become too dependent on the efforts of one or two hard workers within the organization. It places too much responsibility on those individuals and eventually they will come to feel unappreciated and will burn out. I watched a huge national organization with which I was closely associated, flop because of this sort of thing just as things were really taking off. Some of you may think I am being overly concerned, but I've been around a long time, have been thru a lot of different situations, and, just like riding sportbikes, I've seen how surprisingly quick things can take a bad turn and crash. And when it does, it usually comes as a total surprise at the most inconvenient time. Ideas: (1) A hard copy membership directory. (2) A telephone communications chain could be set up to get certain messages out quickly to the entire membership including those who do not visit the website so that one person doesn't have to bear that sole responsibility. I can give you details how those work if needed. (3) We need to continually reevaluate our needs, both immediate and long term, and make them known to the group at large so that members can take responsibility and volunteer when their individual strenghts are matched to those needs. |

Its great to have good friends like you guys to ride with. The memories will last a life time. And theres so many more to come! <<<------Ok I thought Jason summed it up perfectly so I just used his answer!!!!!! Dislikes: the fact that my schedule has kept my ass from riding all summer. I'd say my only complaint is the same problem we as a group have had a long time, leaving on time when we say we are going. and leaving so late in the afternoon. Comments/Suggestions: Im thinking we need to have some non riding get togethers, maybe at peoples houses, to watch races, play cards whatever!!! Ideas: Lets get the end of year party planned and cut loose!<<<----hell yeah |
