It was a pleasant evening, the half moon blazing down in all it's quiet glory. The Estate wasn't the biggest, but it was one of the best, and already teemed with many of Arcadia's upperclass citizens, most of whom were already inside the extravagant house.

"I'm happy you agreed to join me Anya." An oily voice said with approval. Dimitri was dressed in a fine suit and vest, which was in fact simply a more refined version of his normal choice of clothing. But it was a party they were going to after all, and he had to look good for it. The limo began to slow as it pulled up in front of the main hall. "This should be a very good teaching experience."

He chuckled darkly, lifting himself from the car after the chauffeur opened the door for him. The older gentleman tugged his coat lightly before offering his hand to help Anya out.

This evening shall be most amusing indeed~

Taking the older gentleman's hand, Anya stepped out of the limo with an expression of obvious anxiety etched over her glowing face.

Unable to find a proper dress on her own, she had turned to her fellow Elite, Valentine, for advice on what to wear. As a result, tonight the redhead was garbed in a formal-blue dress, hanging from her right shoulder down and smoothly wrapping around the mid of her legs. It was supposedly German in design, but Anya couldn't care less. The material felt much too restricting, and along with the fact that she was forced to wear high-heels left her feeling more than a bit awkward.

If of any consolation, at least she was allowed to keep her scabbard tied to her side. A sign perhaps that she would be expected to do some heavy lifting of sorts later in the evening.

Flashing a small smile in Dimitri's direction, Anya looked to the large building in front of them. "Professor, do you think Mr. Cardova is waiting for us inside?"

Dimitri smiled. "He is the host of this little party. Until I can get an audience with him, we mingle. But I would also like to see you use some of the information gathering you've been taught in class." He winked at her and led the two of them in.

They were greeted by two very large very furry men. Twins in fact, and it would appear that they both maintained the same power as well. They took one look at Dimitri and bowed their heads.

"Wiseman Alpha." they said in respectful unison before stepping aside, though the one on the right gave Anya a brooding look, most notably for the weapon she carried. The look did not go unnoticed by Dimitri.

"May I remind you that the company I keep are expected to be given the same respect as myself..." The dark inflection and something in Dimitri's eyes caused the man to shiver.

"I mean no disrespect sir..."

"Good. Come along Anya."

Inside the party was as high class as one would expect from the aristocrats of Arcadia, with many high level officials and advisers mingling and chatting. Many of them having brought their own "Consorts" some of them obviously little more than showgirls in pretty dresses, some of them whose ages Dimitri may not have approved of for the role they were to play.

The older gentleman led them deeper into the part and guided them expertly over to one of the more busy rooms that had appeared to have once been a library, but now was one of the main banquet arrangements. Along one wall there were a few tables with expensive treats arranged to be visually appealing.

"I love your dress~" A voice pipped up behind Anya.

The heels on Anya's feet clicked loudly on the floor as the girl quickened her steps in an attempt to follow after Dimitri into the bustling gala. The old man moved at a surprising pace for someone of his age, and keeping her balance steady with high-heels was proving to be quite a feat of their own.

"If I may ask Professor, what information are we looking for?" she said, looking up with an inquisitive gaze.

As they passed the brothers at the door, a glint of fascination shone in the redhead's eyes at the sight of their strange bodies, the shine promptly disappearing as she noticed the unwelcome attention that her scabbard was drawing. Perhaps she should have listened to Valentine in leaving the weapon back at home. But she shook the thought away; she felt insecure enough as it was wearing such formal attire, and a little safety blanket, or in this case a red scabbard would be alright, wouldn't it? It was just one night after all...

The party itself was very impressive. The atmosphere was quite different from the parties thrown by other students, and the air of the patrons even more so with their expensive suits and dresses.

A voice then came from behind, abruptly interrupting Anya's bewilderment as her wandering mind was pulled back to earth. Pivoting more than a bit clumsily on her heels, she turned to meet the stranger that had approached her.

"Um..." she blinked, slightly caught unawares by the compliment. "Thank you."

Behind her was a young man who couldn't have been more then a year or two older then her. He was dressed in a nice suit, not too expensive in taste, but with just enough class to fit in at the party. He smiled and bowed.

"I'm sorry for being so forward, it's a bad habit of mine." He said, voice holding a slightly embarrassed tone.

Dimitri turned and raised an eyebrow at the youth. He remembered him from SIN as having graduated from the school a year or two ago, but aside from that he could not recall much. Instinctively he exerted a fleck of power to skim the boy's surface thoughts and intentions toward Anya before curbing his defensiveness.

The boy seems honest enough. He sighed inwardly, as he knew that Anya was quite capable of taking care of herself as well. But then, he was allowed to feel protective. He was a Wiseman after all right? He was one of the rulers of the city, he was allowed to feel whatever he pleased.

"Excuse me for a moment Anya, I have some business to attend to, but I'll be right back with our man of the night." He smiled at the boy as well, but the smile shifted from the warm one he gave Anya to a very cold one as if to say 'treat her like I'm watching you' before wandering over to the food table.

The boy flinched, but held his ground, which might have impressed Dimitri had he stayed.

"My name is Devon. What brings you here? Hopefully not the food." he said flashing a grin. As Dimitri had checked earlier, the young man appeared to be clean in his intentions and indeed in his respectful approach of her.

Anya returned with a bow of her own, her eyes carefully scanning the boy in front of her. He seemed... odd. Then again, perhaps she was the odd one, a speck of red carrying a weapon among a high-class crowd of blue.

"My name is Anya Mori," she said. As for what she was doing there... the redhead barely knew herself. All she had been told was that she was to accompany the Professor in his meeting with one Darius Cardova, for what reasons she had not bothered to ask. "I am here on business," she concluded at last.

Her eyes then moved to the direction that the Professor had walked off to, tempted to follow. But he had said that he would be back shortly, and despite her better urges Anya planted her feet to keep herself from wandering away.

"How of you, Mr. Devon? May I ask what reasons you have for being at such an event?" If she had to wait, she was at least grateful for not having to wait alone.

"I'm doing alright. Things have been pretty busy where I work." He continued.

Meanwhile, Dimitri grabbed a glass of punch before spotting who he was looking for.

"Darius! It's been quite some time since our last little chat." he said with all the sweetness of an old friend.

The man turned and smiled, though his eyes did not show the same reaction as his mouth.

"Well if it isn't the Professor. How have you been old chap?"

"Fine fine, been rather busy lately, but I have been meaning to talk to you."

'In private.'

"...Of course, of course! We can head up to my study." He nodded slowly, eyes flashing out about the room before leading the way to an ornate staircase. Dimitri following but signaling Anya to follow.
